8322 Merchant Police1 C S ORDINANCE NUMBER 8322 (Published in The Salina Journal \,,, i �� 1973) AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT ALL APPLICANTS FOR A MERCHANT POLICE LICENSE SHALL FILE BONDS AND LIABILITY INSURANCE PRIOR TO THE ISSUANCE OF A LICENSE; PRESCRIBING THE AMOUNTS, TERMS AND CONDITIONS THEREOF; AMENDING SECTION 28-56 OF THE SALINA CODE AND REPEAL NG THE EXISTING SECTION. BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That Section 28-56 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 28-56. Bond required. The applicant for license hereunder shall file a bond executed by a surety authorized to do business in the State of Kansas in the sum of $10,000 conditioned that the applicant shall and will carry out and perform all of the duties imposed upon him by the provisions of this article and that such applicant will indemnify and save harmless the City from all liability for any injury to persons or property which the principal, his agent, servant or employee may cause by reason of engaging in the business of merchant police. Said bond shall be approved as to form and surety by the City Attorney. "Section 28-56 (a). Insurance required. Every applicant for a license hereunder shall, as a condition of the issuance of said license, procure and maintain in full force for the duration of the license, bodily injury liability insurance in the minimum amount of $50,000 per occurrence, as well as property damage liability in the amount of $25,000 per occurrence, or a single limit policy in the amount of $75,000 per occurrence which provides coverage for both bodily injury and property damage. Proof of coverage shall be on file with the City Clerk at all times and shall be approved by the City Attorney. Each insurance policy shall contain a clause to the effect that the policy shall not at any time during the license period be cancelled or reduced, restricted or limited unless the administrative authority is given 10 days written notice." Section 2. That the existing Section 28-56 of the Salina Code is hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication in the official city newspaper. (SEAL) Attest: D. L.
