AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE TAP FEE FOR WATER SERVICE: AMENDING
SECTION 35-30 (2) OF THE SALINA CODE AND REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 35-30 (2) of the Salina Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"Sec, 35-30 (2). Whenever any person, f rm or
corporation desires to obtain water service to any
property, to or upon or for any property, not heretofore
served with water by the Water and Sewerage Department,
as a condition precedent to the installation of such
service, in addition to all other charges, a sum equal
to two dollars ($2.00) multiplied by the front footage
of the property to be so served shall be paid to the
Water and Sewerage Department. The department shall
tap on all mains or distribution lines, inserting a
corporation cock and furnishing the union for the
connection to the service line. A charge shall be
made for each tap in addition to the sums aforesaid in
the amount of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for each
one inch corporation cock. Larger sized corporation
cocks may be authorized by the Director of Utilities
and the charges therefor shall be actual cost of
installation plus fifteen percent (15%) to be paid to
the Water and Sewerage Department when the service is
installed and applied for or the tap ordered."
Section 2. That Section 35-30 (2) of the Salina Code is hereby
repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption and publication in the official city newspaper.
