AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THE OBTAINING OF A PERMIT FOR THE ERECTION OF A
CANOPY OVER ANY STREET OR SIDEWALK AND ESTABLISHING THE FEE THEREFOR; AMENDING
SECTION 9-40 OF THE SALINA CODE AND REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 9-40 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"Section 9-40. Permits required; fees.
No supported canopy which is to be in place more than
twenty-four (24) hours and no suspended canopy or marquee
shall be added to, altered or erected over the streets,
sidewalks or alleys of the city until a permit has been
secured from the building inspector. The fee for such
permits shall be three dollars ($3). No awning or permanent
awning shall be added to, altered or erected over the streets,
sidewalks or alleys of the city until a permit has been
secured from the building inspector. The fee for such
permit shall be three dollars ($3). Such fees shall be
paid prior to the issuance of the permit or the erection
of the suspended or supported marquee, awning or permanent
awning."
Section 2. That Section 9-40 of the Salina Code is hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption and publication in the official city newspaper.
