8403 Taxicab Driver Fees(Published in The Salina Journal NWebef- V , 1974) AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE EXAMINATION AND LICENSE FEE FOR TAXICAB DRIVERS AND FOR THE RENEWAL THEREOF; AMENDING SECTIONS 34-89 AND 34-96 OF THE SALINA CODE AND REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTIONS. BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That Sections 34-89 and 34-96 of the Salina Code are hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 34-89. Examination and license fee. Each application for a license hereunder shall be accompanied by the payment of an examination and license fee of seven dollars ($7.00), and in the event the applicant is refused a license such fee shall be returned to the applicant by the city. "Section 34-96. Expiration, renewal of licenses. All drivers licenses shall expire on the last day of December of each year. Prior to the expiration of any such license, the driver may file an application for renewal and may obtain a new license upon the payment of a fee of five dollars ($5.00) if such renewal application is f i led on or before December twentieth (20th) of the year in which the existing license expires, and in such event, no new license application shall be required; provided, that before any renewal is issued, the applicant must secure approval of the chief of police in the same manner and upon the same requirements as provided for in Section 34-90 to 34-93 hereof, and new photographs shall be furnished, if, in the opinion of the chief of police, they are necessary for proper identification." Section 2. That the existing Sections 34-89 and 34-96 of the Salina Code are hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after December 31, 1974.
