Library ReportLibrary Report Support Your Library Support Your Community Tax funding covers a portion of our expenses but as we embark on more projects to serve our community,we depend upon generous individuals and businesses within Saline County. www.salinapublic.library.org/give The Library participated in Match Madness through the Greater Salina Community Foundation on March 23,2023.$5,833.78 was raised for the library’s endowed fund;the total of the matching gift is pending.Staff met with 513 people during the day’s booth event,including 420 5th-graders from USD 305. Allyson’s nephew Eli shot 10 free throws in 40 seconds.He made $100 for SPL! https://www.matchmadnessgscf.org/ National Library Week NLW will be April 23-29.The Friends will have a book sale leading into the week and Melanie will read a proclamation during the April 24 City Commission meeting.Throughout the week,an interactive display,small giveaway items and donation boxes will be in the library. Donation Match -April Sally Brungardt,has organized a match donation with Modern Woodmen up to $2500 for the Library during the month of April.We greatly appreciate their support! I love working with our employees and the variety of my jobs tasks. What materials do you enjoy checking out from the Library? I have used some of the new non-traditional items we have acquired recently and enjoy reading biographies. What do you enjoy most about the community we serve? I have lived in Salina all my life and I like the fact that it still has that small town feel to me,in the way we interact with each other.I’ve really enjoyed the new art murals that have been done in the downtown area and the revitalization of that area. Are you a member or a part of any organizations/groups in the Salina area? I am a member of the local society of human resource management here in salina and nationally. What is one thing you think everyone should know about the Library? That we have something here for everyone!So many things to explore. A variety of non-fiction and all types of mystery fiction. What do you enjoy most about the community we serve? I love the community minded nature of Salina,and I love the diversity of the patrons that come to the library! Are you a member or a part of any organizations/groups in the Salina area? I’m a member of North Salina Community Development (NSCD)and Salina Area Workers Coalition(SAWC).I’m not as active as I once was,but I try to keep up with what’s going on. What is one thing you think everyone should know about the Library? All of the wonderful programs we offer the community,for all ages and interests!The Event Calendar,either in book form or online,shows patrons everything that's offered.
