Section 2. That the existing Section 9-68 of the Salina Code is
hereby repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after December 31, 1974.

AN ORDINANCE MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF SIGN
HANGING OR ERECTION WITHOUT OBTAINING A LICENSE THEREFOR; ESTABLISHING THE
LICENSE FEE; AMENDING SECTION 9-68 AND REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 9-68 of the Salina Code is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"Section 9-68. License required for sign business; term;
fee; exceptions.
No person shall engage in the business of sign hanging
or the erection of signs within the corporate limits of the
city without complying with the provisions of this article
and first obtaining a license. There shall be a license fee
of thirty-three dollars ($33.00) per year for such person
engaged in the business of sign hanging and the erection of
signs. All persons engaged in the business of sign hanging
and the erection of signs will come under this license except
those who are employed by contractors carrying a license.
There shall be a separate license for each place of business
conducted by any person: Provided, that nothing in this
section shall prevent any person from hanging or erecting
any sign or signs to be used in advertising the business of
such person, but strict compliance shall be made at all times
in the hanging of such signs with the provisions of this
article. The license shall be valid until December thirty-
first of the year issued. A new license will be issued for
the ensuing year if the fee is paid by January fifteenth,
a new application must be made and fee paid before a license
will be issued."
Section 2. That the existing Section 9-68 of the Salina Code is
hereby repealed.
