8530 Water/Sewerage Improvement1 1 ORDINANCE NUMBER 8530 (Published in The Salina Journal December 30 1976) AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING NOTICE TO BE GIVEN OF THE INTENTION OF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, TO REPAIR, ALTER, EXTEND, RECONSTRUCT, ENLARGE AND IMPROVE ITS WATER AND SEWERAGE SYSTEM. WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas, hereby accepts as reasonable and justifiable the feasibility report submitted to the Governing Body covering the operation of the City's waterworks system as a part of the combined water and sewerage system of the City and further hereby finds and determines that the recommendations for water rate changes contained therein are necessary and reasonable under the circumstances, and WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas, hereby finds and determines that there are Federal funds available for repairing, altering, extending, reconstructing, enlarging or improving its waterworks system aggregati the amount of $972,900 which when added to the sum of $3,000,000 made availabe by the sale of said City of its water and sewerage system revenue bonds will be sufficient to make the necessary improvements to the waterworks system as recomme in the feasibility report hereinabove referred to, SO NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That it is hereby found and determined that the municipally owned water and sewerage system owned and operated by the City of Salina, Kansas, should be repaired, altered, extended, reconstructed, enlarged and improved as authorized by K.S.A. 12-862 and in accordance with the details set forth in the feasibility report prepared by the City's engineers and hereby incorporated in this ordinance by reference thereto. Section 2. That the total cost of the repairs, alterations, extensions, reconstruction, enlargement and improvement of the water and sewerage system as recommended by said feasibility report at this time is $3,972,900 which shall be 'obtained by utilizing $972,900 of available Federal funds and by the issuance of $3,000,000 Water and Sewerage System Revenue Bonds of the City as authorized by K.S.A. 12-862. Accordingly, the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to give notice in the official city newspaper of the intention of the Governing Body to make such repair, alteration, extention, reconstruction, enlargement and improvement of the City's water and sewerage system heretofore combined in accordance with the authorization of K.S.A. 12-856 et seq. Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Commission of said City and its ication in the official city newspaper.
