RESOLUTION NUMBER 96-4977
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF SALINA TO
IMPLEMENT A PILOT MULCHING MOWER REBATE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, an average household generates an average of 1.2 tons of
grass clippings per year, taking up valuable landfill space, and
WHEREAS, the Solid Waste Management Committee has evaluated the
problem and discussed the benefits of mulching versus landfill disposal.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the City of Salina implement a pilot mulching mower
rebate program to all Saline County residents during 1996.
Section 2. That residents purchasing new mulching mowers will
receive a $25 rebate and residents purchasing a mulching mower conversion kit
will receive a $10 rebate.
Section 3. That all rebates must be received within 60 days of
purchase, with a limit of one rebate per household.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor
this 26th day of February, 1996.
