Our community supported the library on this world wide donation day. A total of $820 was donated.
William Allen White Award Committee

Katie Pearson, Head of Youth Services, was selected to be on the William Allen White Award Committee.
The committee includes 20 members representing libraries, schools, and other educational organizations across the
state. Currently, committee members are reading and nominating high-quality children's and young adult books for
the 2024-2025 award year. Each spring, third through eighth-grade students in Kansas vote for two books to receive
the William Allen White Award.
Kanopy
Kanopy is free to Salina Public Library cardholders.Kanopy’s unique
selection offers something for everyone, from award winning indie films
to important and timely documentaries, to foreign films, popular
cinema, children’s shows and more. Educators can use the service in
their classrooms to provide educational content. This service is
managed by the Information Services Department.

Niche Academy
For 2023 we have purchased Ryan Dowd’s training for SPL Staff. As a full staff group we will complete the core
training on staff training days. Other educational videos are reviewed by supervisors and assigned to library staff as
part of their work plan or simply selected by library staff for continued development in areas they want to grow in.
Adult Programming
The Pinterest Night Program (lead by Eileen Thibault) is one of the most popular adult programs we offer here at the
library! For the November Pinterest Night, patrons made snowmen out of stackable pumpkins! The snowmen turned
out great and the registrants are always excited to see what Eileen has in store for them to make!

●Saturday, November 19: I attended the Dunbar School 100th Anniversary Celebration. They graciously
provided a print for the Library.
