81-8886 Improper ParkingORDINANCE NUMBER 81-8886 (Published in The Salina Journalmower 25 , 1981) I AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PENALTY FOR IMPROPER PARKING; AMENDING SECTION 22-190 OF THE SALINA CODE AND REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTION. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That Section 22-190 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 22-190. Notice of violation; payment in lieu of penalty. Each police officer shall attach to such vehicle a notice to the owner or operator thereof that such vehicle has been parked in violation of the provisions of this article. Each such owner or operator may, within forty-eight (48) hours of the time when such notice was attached to such vehicle enclose said notice with One Dollar ($1.00) if the violation was failure to deposit coin or coins of a sufficient amount in the meter in violation of Section 22-182 or One Dollar ($1.00) if the violation was for parking beyond the period of legal parking for said zone in violation of Section 22-183 and deposit the same in the courtesy fine collection box attached to certain parking meter posts or pay the same to the desk sergeant at the police station as a penalty for and in full satisfaction of such violation. If said penalty is not paid within forty-eight (48) hours of the time when such violation was attached to such vehicle the penalty for such violation shall be Five Dollars ($5.00) for violations of Section 22-182 and Five Dollars ($5.00) for violation of Section 22-183, payable to the desk sergeant at the police station, the failure of such owner or operator to make such provisions within forty-eight (48) hours shall render said owner or operator subject to the penalties hereinafter provided for violation of the provisions of this article." Section 2. That the existing Section 22-190 of the Salina Code is hereby repealed. Section 3.
