AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN LAND TO THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, IN
CONFORMITY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF K.S.A. 12-519 TO 12-526 INCLUSIVE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the following described land, to -wit:
A tract of land located in the Northwest Quarter (NW/4) of Section
Eight (8), Township Fourteen (14) South, Range Two (2) West of the
Sixth Principal Meridian in Saline County, Kansas, and more
particularly described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at a point on the south right-of-way line of the
Missouri Pacific Railroad where it crosses the half -section
line being one thousand two hundred twenty-four and sixty-five
hundredths feet (1,224.65') north of the southeast corner of
the Northwest Quarter (NW/4) of Section Eight (8), Township
Fourteen (14) South, Range Two (2) West;
Thence west twenty feet (20') on the south right-of-way line
of the Missouri Pacific Railroad;
Thence southwesterly to a point three hundred seventy-seven
feet (377') south of and one hundred twenty-three and four
tenths feet (123.49 west of the place of beginning;
Thence southwesterly to a point five hundred sixty-nine and
four tenths feet (569.4') south of and two hundred forty-two
and twenty-five hundredths feet (242.25') west of the place
of beginning;
Thence southeasterly one hundred feet (100') to the center of
the Smoky Hill River, said point being one hundred seventy-four
feet (174') more or less west of and six hundred thirty-four
feet (634') south of the place of beginning;
Thence southeasterly to a point six hundred ninety-nine feet
(699') south of and one hundred five and six tenths feet (105.6')
west of the place of beginning;
Thence northeasterly to a point on the east line of said quarter
section and five hundred eighty-eight feet (588') south of the
place of beginning;
Thence north along the east line of said quarter to the place of
beginning.
Said tract contains 1.7 acres, more or less.
meeting one or more of the classifications for annexation prescribed by K.S.A.
12-519 to 12-526, inclusive, is hereby annexed and made a part of the City of
Salina, Kansas.
Section 2. That all property described in Section 1 hereof shall
be classed as lying in District "A-1", AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT.
Section 3. That the following described land, to -wit:
A tract of land located in the Northwest Quarter (NW/4) of Section
Eight (8), Township Fourteen (14) South, Range Two (2) West of the
Sixth Principal Meridian in Saline County, Kansas and more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the north right-of-way line of
the Missouri Pacific Railroad and six hundred ten feet
(610') west of the east line of the Northwest Quarter
(NW/4) of Section Eight (8), Township Fourteen (14)
South, Range Two (2) West;
Thence north and parallel to said east line to the north
line of said quarter section;
Thence west along said north line on an assumed bearing
of North eighty-nine degrees twenty-four minutes and
seventeen seconds West (N.89024'17"W.) a distance of one
thousand six hundred ninety-two feet (1,692') to a point
which is three hundred twenty feet (320') east of the
northwest corner of said quarter section;
Thence on a bearing of South zero degrees forty minutes
and two seconds East (S.00040'02"E.) a distance of one
thousand three hundred seventeen and forty-four hundredths
feet (1,317.441) to a point twenty feet (20') north of
the north right-of-way line of the Missouri Pacific
Railroad;
Thence west and parallel to said right-of-way line a
distance of three hundred thirty-five feet (335') to a
point on the west line of said quarter section;
Thence south along said west line a distance of twenty
feet (20') to the north right-of-way line of the Missouri
Pacific Railroad;
Thence east along said right-of-way line a distance of
two thousand thirty-one and fifty-two hundredths feet
(2,031.52') to the point of beginning.
Said tract contains 40.4 acres, more or less.
meeting one or more of the classifications for annexation prescribed by K.S.A.
12-519 to 12-526, inclusive, is hereby annexed and made a part of the City of
Salina, Kansas.
Section 4. That all the property described in Section 3 hereof shall
be classed as lying in District "RS", RESIDENTIAL SUBURBAN.
Section 5. That the following described land, to -wit:
A tract of land located Section Thirty (30), Township Fourteen
(14) South, Range Two (2) West of the Sixth Principal Meridian
in Saline County, Kansas, being more particularly described as
follows:
The West fifty-one feet (51') of the East Half of the
Southwest Quarter (E/2 SW/4) of said Section Thirty (30).
Said tract contains 3.09 acres, more or less
meeting one or more of the classifications for annexation prescribed by K.S.A.
12-519 to 12-526, inclusive, is hereby annexed and made a part of the City of
Salina, Kansas.
Section 6. That all the property described in Section 5 hereof shall
be classed as lying in District "RS", RESIDENTIAL SUBURBAN.
Section 7. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
