AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ISSUANCE, SALE AND
DELIVERY OF $280,000 PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS,
SERIES F-227, OF THE CITY OF SALIIA, KANSAS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
PROVIDING FUNDS TO PAY THE COST OF PURCHASING TRO 1,500 GPM CUSTOM
FIRE TRUCKS TO BE USED BY THE CITY OF SALINA FIRE DEPAPTMFFT; PRE-
SCRIBING THE FORM AND DETAILS OF SAID BONDS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE
LEVY AND COLLECTION OF THE IECESSARY TAXES FOR THE PURPOSE OF
PAYING THE PRINCIPAL OF AND INTEREST ON SAID BONDS AS THE SAME
BECOME DUE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to K.S.A. 1979 Supp. 12-110(c), and
then provisions of the laws of the State of Kansas applicable
hereto, by proceedings duly had, the governing body of the City
f Salina, Kansas (herein called the "City"), has determined to
roceed with purchasing two 1,5D0 !PM custom fire trucks to be
sed by the City of Salina Fire Department.
WHEREAS, all legal requirements pertaining to said im-
rovements have been complied with, and the governing bony of the
ity now estimates that the total costs of said improvements and
elated expenses are $280,000, all of which costs are to be paid
Y the City at large; and
WHEREAS, the governing body of the City is authorized by
av to issue general obligation bonds of the City to pay the costs
f said improvements; and
WHEREAS, the governing body of the City has heretofore
dvertised the sale of said bonds in accordance with law and
warded the sale of said bonds to the lowest bidder; and
WHEREAS, the governing body of the City now deems and
inds it necessary to authorize the issuance of said bonds for de-
ivery to the purchaser;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF
HE CITY OF SALIVA, KANSAS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Authorization of and—Security for__the Bonds.

The Bonds shall be payable as to both principal and in-
terest from ad valorem taxes which may be levied without limita-
tion as to rate or amount upon all the taxable tangible property,
eal and personal, Within the territorial limits of the City. The
full faith, credit and resources of the City are hereby ir-
evocably pledged for the prompt payment of the Bonds and the in -
erect thereon as the same become due.

5,000 each. All of the Bonds shall be dated March 1, 1981, shall

Interest on the Bonds at the rates aforesaid shall be
ayable semiannually an March 1 and September 1 in each year be -

THE CITY OF SALINA, SALINE COUNTY, KANSAS therein called
he "City"), for value received, hereby acknowledges itself to be
ndebted and promises to pay to the bearer the sum of

on the first day of March, 19_, and to pay interest thereon from
the date hereof at the rate of _ percent ( a) per annum,

ginning on March 1, 1982, until said principal sum shall have been

Treasurer in the City of Topeka, Kansas (the "paying Agent"). The

THIS BOND is one of an authorized series of negotiable
coupon Bonds of the City numbered from 1 consecutively upward,
designated "General Obligation Bonds, Series F-227," of like date
and tenor, excepting number, interest rate and maturity, aggre-
gating the principal amount of 5280,000 therein called the
"Bonds"), issued by the City for the purpose of providing funds to
pay the cost of purchasing two 1,500 GPM custom fire trucks to be
used by the City of Salina Fire Department, under the authority of
and in conformity with the provisions, restrictions and limita-
tions of the constitution and laws of the State of Kansas, in-
cluding K.S.A. 10-101 to 10-132, inclusive, K.S.A. 12-110(c), and
all laws amendatory thereof and supplemental thereto.
IT IS HEREBY DECLARED AND CERTIFIED that all acts, con-
ditions and things required to be done and to exist precedent to
and in the issuance of this Bond have been done and performed and
do exist in due and regular form and manner as required by the
constitution and laws of the State of Kansas, and that the total
indebtedness of the City, including this Pond and the series of

interest and premium, if any, received from the sale of the Bonds
shall be deposited in the general obligation bond fund. .
The balance of the proceeds derived from the sale of the
Bonds shall be deuosited in the City treasury and shall be used
and expended solely for the purpose of paying the cost of the
improvements hereinbefore described.

governing body of the City shall annually make provision for the
Payment of principal of and interest on the Bonds as the same be-
come due by levying and collecting the necessary taxes therefor in
the manner provided by law.

Treasurer of the City is hereby authorized and directed to with-
draw from the general obligation bond fund and forward to the
Paying Agent sums sufficient to pay both principal of and interest
on the Bonds as and when the same become due and to pay the
charges of the Paying Agent for acting as fiscal agent in the pay-
ment of said principal and interest. Said charges shall be for-
warded to the Paying Agent over and above the amount of the prin-
cipal of and interest on the Bonds.
