AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 713(f) OF CHAPTER 7 OF THE APPENDIX OF
THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, WHICH PERTAINS TO PUBLIC ADDRESS AND WARNING SYSTEMS,
ENACTING SECTION 9-18.1 OF THE SALINA CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 9-18.1 of the Salina Code is hereby enacted
to read as follows:
"Section 9-18.1. Amendment of Section 713(f) of Chapter 7 of
the Appendix to the Uniform Building Code.
That Section 713(f) of Chapter 7 of the Appendix of the
Uniform Building Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
'713(f). Public Address/Warning System.
Covered mall buildings exceeding 50,000 square feet in
area shall be provided with a public address/warning system
that is accessible to the fire and emergency preparedness
departments. When a public address/warning system is
provided, it shall be made accessible to the fire and
emergency preparedness departments.'.'
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption and publication in the official city newspaper.
