AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING, BY REFERENCE, THE 1982 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM
BUILDING CODE AND ALL APPENDICES, AMENDING SECTION 9-18 OF THE SALINA CODE AND
REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That Section 9-18 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
''Section 9-18. Uniform Building Code adopted.
There is hereby adopted, by reference, by the City for
the purpose of providing minimum standards to safeguard life
or limb, health, property, and public welfare by regulating
and controlling the design, construction, quality of materials,
use and occupancy, location and maintenance of all buildings
and structures within the city and certain equipment
specifically regulated therein, that certain building code
known as the Uniform Building Code, recommended and published
by the International Conference of Building Officials, being
particularly the 1982 Edition thereof, including the appendix
thereto, of which not fewer than three (3) copies have been,
and now are filed in the Office of the City Clerk and the same
are hereby incorporated as fully as if set out at length
herein and the provisions thereof shall be controlling in the
construction of the buildings and structures therein contained
within the corporate limits of the City.''
Section 2. That the existing Section 9-18 of the Salina Code is
hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
