Regular meeting of the Board of Corm-nissioners August 7, 1939. 1,Ieeting was called to order by Mlayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Fiorgenstern, Branson, Breon and Ferm and Actirg City Attorney Jenkins responded. Commissioner l+litchell deceased. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 1, 1939 were read and approved as read. Application for taxicab drivers license for the year 1939 re- ceived from: F. E. Trench On motion of Commissioner Ferm application was granted by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Commissioner F''erm moved that the Pool Hall Ordinance be amend- ed by striking out tie limit of number of Pool Halls in the City. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Section 1 of Ordinance Number 2993 being Section 5-201 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Salina 1925 relating to permits required under the Building Code." Ordinance was referred tot he Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providin; for the curbing, guttering and grading of Beloit Avenue from the east line of Fburth Street to the center line of 7sborne Street; YLirwin Street from the west line of Ninth Street to the :rest line of ershing Ave e; Jewell Avenue from the east line of South Court Place to the east line o�unston Ereet on the north side of Jeaell, and f rom the west 1 ineof Pershing. Street to the west line of Lot 4, Parkview Addition on the south side of Jewell Avenue; Seventh Street from the center line of Harsh Avenue to the center line of 'Hamilton nue; Johnstown Avenue from the west line of Columbia Avenue to the east ine of Oakdale venue; Twelfth Street from the south line of Prescott Avenue to the north line of CrawfordAvenue; Hancock Street from the south line of Crawford Avenue to the south line of Illinois Street; i"rost Street from the west line of Tenth Street to the east line of Eleventh treet; Eighth Street from the south line of Pacific Avenue to the center line of 'Woodland Avenue; Charles Street from thevuest line of Eleventh Street to the east line of i velfth Street; and Ellsworth Avenue from the wettline of Pershing Street to the east line of Punston Street, (excepting the part that is now curbed and guttered), and providing for the cost of such improve- ments and howthe same shall b e assessed and the manner of payment therefor." Mausoleum Deed for Crypt No. 342 in the Hillcrest is emorial h1aus6leum was received from Anna C. Smith. On motion same was referred to the City Attorney. A cormiunication was r eceived f rom the Chamber of Commerce in reference to the business routing of US 40 and US 81; also the establishing of Pedestrian lanes on Santa Fe Avenue from Ash Street to `vlalnut Street.
