Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 10, 1939.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor T.vlorgenstern, the roll was called
and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, reon, Ferm and Mitchell and
City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular 41:01eeting of July 3, 1939 were read
and approved as read.
Application for taxicab driver license for 1939 was received
from:
Elmer Boyer
Conmissioner Breon moved that application be approved by the
Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
Application for taxicab license for 1939 received from:

The following communication in reference to rezoning of Lot 7,
Block 12, Oakdale Addition was received from the City Planning
Commission:
Salina, Kansas.
July 8, 1939.
"Hon. Mayor and City Commissioners
City of Salina
Salina, Kansas.
Gentlemen:
On Friday, July 7, at 5:00 P.M. the City
Planning and Zoning Commission net in special called
session with a quorum present for the consideration
of a petition submitted for the rezoning of Lot 7,
Block 12, Oakdale Addition, from residential to
commercial zone.
The Commission, after careful consideration
of circumstances in connection with this petition,
respectfully submits its recommendation for the
Honorable T.Iayor and Commissioners' consideration
as follows:
That the rezoning of this property as de-
scribed, not be favorably considered, but that a
permit be granted for the construction of a resi-
dential t pe building to be constructed on the
south 70 feet of Lot 7, Block 12, Oakdale Addition,
providing building conforms to the building
ordinance and that said building be permitted to i
be used as a grocery store to be conducted by the
present owner of the property.

On motion of Commissioner Branson the report was referred to
the City TIanager for checking. Motion adopted.
City Engineer submitted Final Estimates of �;ost for the cost
of the following sewers:
I4'ain Sanitary Sewer "Rtt located in East Iron Avenue from
Delaware Avenue to ':,Vest Lane Drive in T+Zt. Barbara Park Addition;

j Lateral Sanitary Sewer Ho. 179 located in alley running
north and south between Tenth and Eleventh Street, from Pacific
to Harsh Street;
Lateral Sanitary Sewer No. lgn located in Twelfth Street
from Prescott Avenue to raw ord Avenue;

Lateral Sanitary Sewer No. 181 located in Mt. Barbara
Part: Addition; '
Lateral Sanitary_Sewer No. 182 located in Mt. Barbara Park
Addition; and
Lateral Sanitary Sewer No. 183 located in Mt. Barbara Park
Addition.
On motion of Commissioner Breon the above named estimates
were approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to andapportionincr and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of constructing Main Sanitary Sewer
"R" and Lateral Sanitary Sewers in Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts
numbered 179, 180, 181, 132 and 183 and relating to and providing
for the collection and payment of such assessments." Referred to
the Board of Comrdssioners.
On motion of Commissioner Branson the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
