06-12-1939 Minutes459 Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 12, 1939. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Breon and Ferm and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner luitchell absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 5, 1939 were read and approved as read. Mr. F. S. Dyar of the Salina Lions Club appeared before the Board of Commissioners and asked that City license be remitted for carnival to be held in Kenwood I'ark, during the 4H Club Fall Fair, September 6, 7, 8, 1939. Commissioner Ferm moved that request f be granted. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making f appropriation for the payment of certain claims.' i On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: !Morgenstern, Branson, Breon and Ferm (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Mitchell absent. Mayor ap- proved the ordinance and it is numbered A-31. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Eighth street from the south line of Pacific Avenue to the center line of Wood and Avenue." On motion of Commissioner Branson the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Miorgenstern, Branson, Breon and Ferm (4) Nayso (0) Commissioner Mitchell absent. Mayor approved the reso- lution and it is numbered 771. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 137 Resolu- tion Book Number 3. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Charles Street from the west line of Eleventh Street tothe east line of Twelfth Street." On motion of Commissioner Branson the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the follow- ing vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Breon and Ferm (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Mitchell absent. Payor approved the reso- lution and it is numbered 772. Above resolution recorded in full on Page 138, Book Number 3. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Ellsworth Street from the west line of Pershing Street to the east line of Funston treet, (excepting the part that is now curbed and guttered)." On motion of Commissioner Branson the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Breon and Ferm (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Mitchell absent. Automobile endorsement was received eliminating coverage from 1937 Plymouth Sedan, Motor No. P4-194136, R. T. Snelgrove, owner, effetti've June 14, 1939. Comm. Ferm moved that City Clerk notify Mr. Snelgrove of such cancellaation. lotion adopted. 460 Commissioner Branson moved that the Cereal Malt Beverage Li- cense issued to Leo Hill by the Board of Comriissioners February 6, 1939, being License No. 6714, issued under Ordinance No. 4741 to said Leo Hill, as a General Retailer Class "All Individual, for his place of business at 347 North Fifth Street, to be carried on under the name of Leo's Grocery, be revoked, for the reason that said Leo Hill has permittedthe sale of cereal malt beverages on Sunday. The Motion was duly carried by the unanimous vote of the Board of Commissioners, and the City Clerk was instructed to revoke such license on his records and to cause notice of such revocation to be served upon said Leo Hill by the Chief of Police. Motion adopted. City Manager reported favorable on the petition asking for the installation of a l9hite Way on Claflin Avenue from Santa 'e Avenue to Ninth Street. Commissioner Breon moved that report be adopted by the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Branson the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk r �
