Ivleeting was called to order by L'Tayor Morgenstern, the roll was called j and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Breon and Perm and City At- torney Norris responded. Coripissioner L'itchell absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 29, 1939 were read and approved as read. Pursuant to notice published in the Salina Journal, the following City of Salina Internal Improvement Bonds, dated !aarch 1, 1939, were placed on sale: i Series P-121 consisting of 30 bonds of the total par value of X14,268.85; Series S-122 consisting of 10 bonds of the total par value of $3,915.4 -T, -- Series ; Series S-123 consisting of 28 bonds of the total par value of y27,172.75. Offers for said bonds were received from: Estes, Snyder gz Company and Rhodes & Seltsam, Topeka, Kansas, Par, accrued interest and premium of w3.58 per thousand; R. E. Crummer & Company &. Lathrop, Hawk,Herrick, FJichita, Kansas, Par, accrued interest and premium of $3.57 per thousand; Dunne, Israel Company, 74'ichita, Kansas, Par, accrued interest and premium of $3.20 per thousand; Soden & Company, Hansas City, I4lissouri, Par, Accrued interest and premium of $2.70 per thousand; Small, Milburn Company, Wichita, Kansas, Par, Accrued interest and premium of X2.60 per thousand; City National Bank & Trust Company, Par, Accrued interest and premium of X2.20 per thousand; Ranson, Davidson Company, Wichita, Kansas, Par, Accrued interest and premium of $2.50 per thousand; Commissioner Perm moved that the above described bonds be sold to Estes, Snyder & Company and Rhodes & Seltsam of Topeka, Kansas, as per their bid submitted to and approved by the Board of Commissioners; delivery to be made within twenty days from date, and that the City Clerk' e authorized to return the certified checks to the unsuccessful bidders. Pdlotion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payr,ient of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Perm the ordinance was r ead and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: I,Iorgenstern, Branson, Breon and Perm (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner I.1itchell absent. Tayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-29. An ordinancew as introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinancew as read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll wast alled and the following vote was had; Ayes: `'orgenstern, Branson, Breon and Perm (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner I,litchell absent. Yayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-30. A petition was presented asking for the location of a street light at the intersection of I.10 ntrose Avenue and Morrison Avenue. Notice of Cancellation of insurance covering 1938 Plymouth Sedan, luotor No. P6-93884, Serial No. 10524902, owned by L. A. Bartlett, Commissioner Branson moved that the City Clerk notify Pvir. Bartlett of such cancellation. r„'lotion adopted. City Engineer reported and recommended the following petitions for the curbing and guttering of the following streets: "Eighth Street from the south dine of Pacific Avenue to the center line of rMoodland Avenue; Charles Street from the west line of Eleventh Street to the east line of Twelfth Street; Ellsworth Street from the west line of Pershinj- Street to the east line of Funston treet, (excepting the part that is now curbed and guttered). A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading, of �EEi_gh_tth�h Street from the south line of Pacific Avenue to the c enterinin o 17oo land Avenue.” Same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution eras introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing, glittering and grading of Charles Street from the west line of Eleventh Street to the east line of 1 relft Street." Same was referred to the Board of Commissiore rs. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and g rading of Ellsworth Street from the west line of Pershing Street to the east line of F�anston Street, (excepting the part that is now curbed and guttered)." Same was referred to the Board of C ommissiore rs. Information was presented to the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina that one, 17n. Brittendall, has been convicted of the offense of selling cereal malt beverages on Sunday, in violation of the provisions of Section 7, Ordinance Number 4741 of the City of Salina, such sale having been made from the place of business owned and conducted by Leo Hill., in the name of Leo's Grocery at 347 North Fifth Street in Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Branson moved that Leo Hill be notified that a hearing will be held by the Board of Commissiorae rs of the City of Salina at their regular meetin room of said Board of Cormlission?rs at the City Hall in Salina, Kansas on June 12, 1939 at 4:30 P. TAT. for the purpose of determining whet.er or not the license heretofore issued to him by the City of Salina, bein License Number 6714 issued on February 6, 1939 should be revoked as provided by law, and by said Ordinance No. 4741. Tvi-otion adopted. Commissioner Breon moved that a permit be granted to Jones Electric 1,1achine Company for the construction of a building on the southeast corner of Santa Fe Avenue and Decatur Street, using; an 8 -inch wall. Motion adopted. On motion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Commissiore rs adjourned. j City Clerk
