and Commissioners iorgenstern, Branson, Breon and Ferm and City
Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Mitchell absent.
The minutes of the Regular i,-<eeting of Mlay 22, 1939 were read and
approved as read.
The following communication was received from the Airport
Board:

" A joint-.21eeting of the Airport Board and the
City Commissioners was held at 12:15 P. L. on 'iJay
26, 1939 with the following me2�bers present: '�TZyne

Brown, Secretary of Airport Board.

Matters vert^inii�g to the operation of the
Airport and a proposal submitted by Chas. Sheldon
-
for co.lercial rights on the airport were considered.
After considerable discussion the Airport
Board wishes to submit the following recommendations
to the City Commission.
That C. W. Peterson who now occupies the
station building and city hangar be placed on a month-
ly salary of ��50.00 per month for the next seven
months beginning June 1, 1939. That he be given the
right to occupy the station building, comr:ierntal
gasoline rights on the airport, free storage in the
city hangar for two planes, and the privilege of
operating frora the field commercially and carrying on
a flying school. All revenue received for the storing
of planes in the city hangar to be turned over to'the
city.
All other persons wishing to opiate commercially
or carry on a flying school from the field to pay
the sum of 620.00 per month to the cit for the first
two planes used for such purpose, andK-10.00 per
month for each plane used in excess of two,exclusive
of hangar rental.

VJm. Reimold, asked permission to construct a filling station
on Broadway 3oulevard and. Thirteenth Street. Commissioner Ferm moved
that permission be granted. Motion adopted.
Commissioner Fern moved that Royce Rearwin be given permission
to install i-aoline pumps on the Sudendorf property on North Fifth
Street opposite the City Hall. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."

On motion of Commissioner Fern the ordinance was r ead and
*aopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Breon and
Ferm (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Mitchell absent. Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered A-24.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriation for the purchase of Temporary Note of the City of
Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was ,called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: horgenstern, Branson, Breon and
Ferri (4) Nays : (0) Commissioner Mitchell absent. Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered A-25.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Ferm the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its finaladoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: iVorgenstern, Branson, Breon and
Ferm (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner 14itchell absent. Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered A-26.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriation for the purchase of Temporary Note of the City of
Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Breon the ordinance was r ead and
adop ed by sections and on its final adoption the roll wascalled and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Breon and
Fern (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Kitchell absent. Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered A-27.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriation for the payment of c ertain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and
adop ed by sections and on its final adoption the roll was :,called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Lor-enstern, Branson, Breon
and Ferm (4.) Nays: (0) Commissioner Mitchell absent. Mayor ap-
proved the ordinance and it is numbered A-2£3.
Idlayor i� orgenstern submitted the name of Jos. J. Sullivan as a
member of the City Planning Commission for a term of three years
from I'ay 1, 1939. On motion of Commissioner Ferm appointment was
confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. Motion a dopted.
Mayor Morgenstern submitted the name of Airs. L. S. Nelson as
a member of the Public Welfare Board for a term of five years from
Itiiay 21, 1939. On motion of Commissioner Branson appointment was con-
firmed by the Board of Commissioners. Iy7otion adopted.
A petition was presented asking for the installation of Highway
US 40 markings on new highway from Santa Fe Avenue to Ninth on Pacific,
and from Ninth to North on Broadway.. Commission r Ferm moved that
markers be placed July 1, 1939. Motion adopted.
On motion of Commissioner Branson the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
