COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
MAY 81 1939.
Regular meeting of the Board of C ommissioners May 8, 1939.
Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Ferm, the roll was called
and Commissioners Ferm, Branson and Breon and City &ttorney Norris
responded. Commissioners Morgenstern and Mitchell absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 11 1939 were read
and approved as read.
Earl Keeton appeared before the Board of Commissioners and
asked for a special permit to install three gasoline pumpt on the
east side of Fifth Street (Sudendorf property opposite the City Hall)
said pumps to be located at least thirty-six feet from the sidewalk.
Commissioner Branson moved that a special permit be granted. Motion
adopted.
Commissioner Branson moved that the City kttorney be instructed
to give Paul C. Wearing notice to connect his premises located on
front Street and Republic Avenue with the sewer. Motion adopted.
City Engineer filed plans and specifications and estimate of
cost for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers numbered 181,
182 and 183, located in Mt. Barbara Park Addition.
On motion of Commissioner Branson the above mentioned plans
and specifications and estimate of cost were approved by the Board of
Commissioners, and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids
to be received up to and including Monday, May 15, 1939 at 4:30 P. M.
Motion adopted.
City Engineer submitted Final Estimate of Cost for the repair
and reconstruction of East Ash Street sewer, as provided for in con-
tracts dated August 22, 1938 and January 16, 1939. On motion of
Commissioner Branson same were approved by the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A
Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Beloit
Avenue from the east line of Fourth Street to the center line of
sZ5 borne Jtreet."
On motion of Commissioner Breon the resolution was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the folowing vote was had; Ayes: Ferm, breon and Branson (3)
Nays: 0) Commissioners 1'lorgenstern and Mitchell absent. Acting Mayor
approved the resolution and it is numbered 763.

A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A
resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of 'airwin

On motion of Commissioner Breon the resolution wasr ead and
adoped as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the
following vote was had; Ayes: Ferm, Branson and Breon (3) Nays: (0)
Commissioners Morgenstern and Mitchell absent. Acting Mayor approved the
resolution and it is numbered 764.

A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A
resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Jewell
Avenue from the east line of South Court Place to the east 11ne'o

Pershing Street to the west line of Lot 4, Parkview Addition on the
south side of Jewell Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Breon the resolution was read and
adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the
following vote was had; Ayes: Ferm, Branson and Breon (3) Nays: (0 )

the resolution and it is numbered 765.

vote was had; Ayes: Ferm, Breon and Branson (3) Nags: (0 Commis-
sioners Morgenstern and I'litchell absent. Acting Mayor approved the
resolution and it is numbered 768.

A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A
resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Hancock
Street from the south line of Crawford Avenue to the south line of
Illinois Street."
On motion of Commissioner Breon the resolution was adopted as

vote was had; Ayes: Breon, Ferm and Branson (3) Nays: (0) Commis-
sioners Morgenstern and Mitchell absent. Acting Mayor approved the
resolution and it is numbered 769.

Baseball Contract for the season of 1939 was presented, and Com-
missioner Branson moved that the Acting Mayor be authorized to sign the
same. Motion adopted.
On motion of Commissioner Branson the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
