05-01-1939 Minutes446 COMM,ISSIOI4ERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALI NA, KANSAS. MAY 1, 1939. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 1, 1939. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm and Mitchell and C ity Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 24, 1939 were read and approved as read. I Mr. C. B.Dodge appeared before the Board of Commissioners in reference to recommendation of the City Planning Commission for the replatting of Fairway, a sub -division of the City of Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Bransom moved that same.be approved by the Board of Com- missioners. tvotion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was ha; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm and Mitchell (5) 14ays: 0) llayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-21. A n ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining certain lateral sanitary sewer districts in the City of Salina designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Nos. 181, 182, and 183 and providing for the; construction of lateral sanitary sewers in the said districts so created and providing for the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property in said districts for the payment of such construction and for the issuing of bonds therefor." i On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll'was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4932. i A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering of Frost Street from the west line of Tenth Street to the east line of Eleventh Street. Referred to the City Engineer. City Engineer reported and recommended the following petitions for the curbing and guttering of the following streets: Hancock Street from Crawford hvenue to Illinois Street; Twelfth Street from Prescott Avenue to Crawford Avenue; Johnstown Avenue from Columbia Avenue to Oakdale Avenue; Seventh Street from Hamilton Avenue to Harsh Street; Beloit Avenue from Fourth Street to Osborne Street; "-irwin Avenue from Ninth Street to Pershing; Frost Otreet from Tenth Street to Eleventh Ltreet; and I Jewell Avenue from South Court Place to F'unston (on the north side of Jewell) and from Pershing to west line of Lot 4, Parkview Addition (on the south side of Jewell). i A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Beloit Avenue from the east line of Fourth Street to the center line of i ssborne Street." Referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Kirwin Avenue from the west line of Ninth Street to the west line of Pershing Street. Referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing guttering and grading of Jewell Avenue from the east line of South Court 'lace to the east line of Funston Street on the north side of Jewell, and from the west line of Pershing Street to the west line of Lot 4, Parkview Addition on the south side of Jewell Avenue." Referred to the Board of Commissioners. 447 A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing o, guttering and grading of Seventh Street from the center line of Harsh Street to the center line of ami ton Avenue." Referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing and glittering and grading; of Johnstown Avenue from the west line of Columbia Avenue to the east line of Oakdale Avenue." Referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Twelfth Street from the south line of Prescott Avenue to the north Line of r� awford Avenue.11 Referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Hancock Street from the south line of Crawford Avenue to the south line of Illinois Street." Referred to the Board of Commissioners. j City Manager recommended the revocation of taxicab drivers license Number 11, issued to Lloyd Cook for the year 1939. On motion of Commissioner Branson recommendation was approved by the Board of j Commissioners. Motion adopted. Application for taxicab drivers license for the year 1939 re- ceived from: Stansfield Smith, Commissioner Fern moved that application be approved by the Board of Corr-iissioners. Motion adopted.
