04-24-1939 Minutes444 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. f COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. --, APRIL 24, 1939. o i Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 24, 1939. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll wascalled and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm and Mitchell and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 17, 1939 were read and approved as read. Notice of change of taxicab operated by Elmer Kihn of the Bell Taxi Company was received. Same was approved by the Board of Commission- ers. The following communication was received from the City Planning Commission in reference to amended plat for the Replat of Lots 2,'3, 4 khd 5, in ` hit. Bafbara Park Addition, whi.ch_.was- ,filed by D. - A.. Nelson. and Genevieve Katherine Nelapn as follows: Salina, Kansas. April 22, 1939. Hon. Mayor & City Commission City of Salina Salina, Kansas. Gentlemen: The City Planning and Zoning Commission, having met in specialc alled meeting for the transaction of business in the Chamber of Commerce rooms at 1:30 P. M. Saturday, April 22, rescinded the action takers in connection with the replgt of Mt. Barbara Park Ad- dition to the City of Salina at the commission's meeting on TVarch 25, and herewith asks that the action taken by the City Planning and Zoning Commission on that date be rescinded due to this replat having been changed. The replat in its present state was reviewed by the Commission and the changes from the original replat noted and, accordingly, the City lanning and Zoning Commission, having taken due notice of the changes, upon unanimous vote approved them and here- with presents same to your honorable body for final action. It will be noted t'iat the approval was made as of Aril 22, 1939 and recommends t at in the com- mission s approval that the date of April 10, be re- corded to conform with the action of the City Plan- ning and Zoning Commission in order that a record of this transaction be brouht up to date. The following communication was received from the City Planning and Zoning Commission in reference to petition received from A. W. Dodge for the replatting of a certain tract of land to be known as Fairway, a sub -division of Saline County, Kansas: Salina, Kansas. April 22, 1939 Hon. Mayor & City Commission City of Salina Salina, Kansas. Gentlemen: The City Planning and Zoning Commission, having met in a special called mession in the Chamber of Com- ' merce rooms at 1:30 P.M. on April 22, for the considera- tion of business, took up the petition submitted by A.W. Dodge for replatting of certain described tract of land as herewith attached. 445 i The Commission, after carefully considering the pe- tition, approved the petition certificate of plat attached, and, accordingly, recommends to you honorable body favorable consideration of the petition certificate of plat submitted i and herewith attached. i Very truly yours, Chas. H. Bren Secretary Commissioner Ferm moved t at action on said petition be deferred until the Commissioners have a meeting with the Dodge Brothers. 3 Motion adopted. I i Baseball contract for the year 1939 was presented. Commis- sioner Branson moved that the same be approved by the Board of Com- missioners and that the mayor be authorised to sign the same on be- half of the City, after contract has been signed by the Baseball i Association. Motion adopted, City Manager submitted report and recommendations for addition- al White Way and street lights. Commissioner Ferm moved that same be approved to be in force after January 1, 1940. McMickle 4 Commissioner Ferm moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissiomrs. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining certain lateral sanitary sewer dis- tricts in the City of Salina designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Nos. 181, 182 and 183 and providing for the construction of lateral sanitary sewers in the said districts so created and providing i for the cost thereof and for the levyin of special assessments against the property in said districts for the payment of such construction and for the issuing of bonds therefor."
