APRIL 17, 1939.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 17, 1939.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called
and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm and Mitchell and
City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 10, 1939 were
read and approved as read.

Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1939
received from:

Commissioner Ferm moved that applications be granted by the
Board of Commissioners. otion adopted.
The following application for Cereal Malt Beverage License for
1939 was received:

Commissioner Branson moved that application be granted, and that
the City Clerk be directed to issue license to said applicant. kotion
adopted.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering
of Twelfth `'treet from Prescott Avenue to Crawford Avenue. Petition
was referred to the City Engineer.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Breon, Ferm
and klitchell (5) Nays (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered A-20.
Commissioner Mitchell moved that claim received from George
M. Trost in the amount of $67.50 be stricken from the ordinance.
Motion adopted.
A petition was presented from A. W. Dodge asking for the re -
platting of a certain tract of land to be known as Fairway, a sub-
division of Salirie County, Kansas. Same was referred to the City
Planning Commission.
Application for retirement and pension was received from
Everett J. Shaffer, a member of the Salina Fire Department. Same was -
referred to the Firemen's Pension Board.
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
