Regular meeting of 14eeti�g was called to order by Mayor 1dorgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Mitchell and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Prieetirg of March 20, 1939 were read and approved as read. Petition from Project Committee of Salina Garden Club present- ed and read. Moved by Commissioner Fern. that petition be filed and received for further consideratlora. Motion carried. A petition was presented asking for the installation of a street light at corner of Republic Avenue and Eleventh Street. On motion of Commissioner Fern the same was referred to the City Manager. kotion adopted. I Taxicab drivers application wasreceived from: i Wn. Orval Bush 14oved by Commissioner Fern that application be approved by the Board of Comnissiore rs. Motion adopted. I E. E. McCabe made application for change of location of Cereal P,ialt 3everage License No. 6667 from 1233 north Santa Fe Avenue to 601 North Santa Fe tivenue. Commissioner Fern moved that the application be approved and the change of location permitted. French 26 On motion of Commissioner Fern were approved by the Board cf Commissioners. 14otion adoped. The followin; communication from the Waterworks Advisory Board was presented: "A meeting of the Waterworks Advisory Board washeld in the Directors room of the National Bank of America at 3:00 P .N. March 23, 1939 with the fol- lowin members present Roy F. Bailey, Chairman, Chas. W. Shaver, Ray Gebhart, Leon atevenson, F. D Kastner, E. W. Hopkins, City Engineer and H. L. Brown, Secretary. Business pertaining to the operation of the Waterworks was discussed. On motion of P,:r. Shaver and seconded by Mr Stevenson the Board recommended that 6" water main be laid in Kirwin from Tenth Street to. -Pershing. 4" water main in Liarietta, Chicago to Olive, 2" water main in Olive, State to fish 4" water main in ?ash, Olive to Chicago 6" water main in 12th Street, Prescott to Crawford 6" water main in Third, Forrest to Pacific, 6" water -nain in 2nd Street, Forrest to Pacific On notion of N.r. Stevenson and seconded by 1",r.Kastner the Board recommended that 25', discount allowed residence consumers beginning with the April meter readings and ern ing with the October meter readings be placed in effect during the year 1939. No further business appearing, on motion of Mr. Kastner the meeting adjourned. WATERWORKS ADVISORY 'BOARD By: H. L. Brown Secretary 431 Commissioner Mitchell moved that recommendations be approved. Motion a dop ted. i Application of DeLuxe Cab Company for approval of parkin - spaces on South Eighth Street (south of Postoffice Building) at loca- tion of new taxicab station was received. �J. A. Taylor appeared ;or DeLuxe Cab Company. On motion of Commissioner Ferm application was approved for one parking space on each side of driveway. Potion adopted. A. G. Anderson appeared on behalf of Eugene Flaherty and May C. Flaherty and requested that the benefits assessed against Lots 4, 5 and 6, Block 5, Rlmdale Addition in the amount of $375.00 be re- mitted. Action continued until next week. Application of Genevieve t�atherineNelson and D. A. Nelson for approval of Replat of Lots 2, 3, 4, and 5, Ivt. Barbara Park Addition was presented. Communication from City Planning Commission received showing consideration and approval of Replat of City Planning Commis- sion was p esented and read as follows: karch 25, 1939. Honorable Mayor &: City Commission Salina, Kansas. Gentlemen: The City Planning and Zoning Commis- sion at a special called meeting at 1:30 P. M. Saturday afternoon i4,arch 25, and having a quorum, considered the proposal for the replatting of Lots 2, 30 4 and 5 in i,1t. Barbara Park Addition, City of Salina, as set out in the attached drawing and .el:planation in the certificate with restrictions attached as Exhibit "A". The Commission, after having given this matter careful consideration, approved of the proposed replatting and, accordingly recommends to the City Commission for consideration and final decision. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Ferm the ordinance wasread and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ay33: 11orgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0 Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-14. Mausoleum Deeds were presented f rom L. A. Fox f or Companion Section No. 4, Section "D" and f rom Vera J. AA1oodwell and George E. Woodwell for Crypts Nos. 139 and 239 in Hillcrest I.lemorial Mausoleum. On motion, ,ayor was authorized to sign said deeds on behalf of the City of Salina. 432 A communication wasr eceived, from Salina Baseball Association for the use of the grandstand, bleachers, lights and baseball diamond in Kenwood 1 ark for the corning season, said rental to be payable at the close of the 1939 season.
