Regular meeting of the Board of Comxiissioners January 10, 1939.
1,70etirig was called to order by Irlayor Morgenstern, the roll was called
and Comr_issioners Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Mitchell
and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular %Teeting of January 3, 1939 were read
and approved as read.
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1939 re-
ceived as follows:

On application of Keith Hu6,hes, Co;slissioner iriitchell moved
that he be granted a permit to sell Grade "D" Cream. ?',lotion oxarried.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance appropriat-
ing and transferring certain moneys from the General Fund (Administra-
tion and Finance Department) to the City Court Fund in the City Treas-
ury."
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Llorgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson
and iitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered 4923.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance appropriat-
ing and transferring certain money from the Ilaterworks Department Fund
in the City Treasury to the 'N. P. A. Project Nuriber 6640 Account."
On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson
and Piitchell (5) Mays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered 4924.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relat-
ing to issuance of Ter�porar Tote in the amount of `433.05 (711T. P. I_ .
Project number 6640 AecountT".

as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the follow-

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance amending Section 1 of Ordinance Number 3821 as amended by
Ordinance :'um=ber 4496, being an ordinance relatinFto and regulating
and fixing a license tax on pool and billiard tables, and repealing
said original sections."
{ On =Motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Liorgenstern, Branson, Fern, Jackson
and P:itchell (5) clays: (0) Payor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered 4925.
An ordinance was introduced for second readin" entitled: "An
ordinance amending sub -section "C'" of Section 2 of Ordinance Tli.unber
4093 as amended by Section 1 of Ordinance No. 4850 and amended by sub-
section IIBII of Section 2 of Ordinance No. 4693, being an ordinance re-
lating to and fixing certain license taxes andrepealing said original
sections."
On motion. of Commissioner I'Aitchell the ordinance was r ead and
adopt ed by sections and on its final adoption the roll was c alled and
the following, vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson
and Titchell (5) Nays: (0) Miayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered 4926.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution authorizing
the execution of a Quit Claim Deed to T. V. Cox."
On motion of Commissioner Fern the resolution was adopted as read
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote
was had: Ayes: I'lorgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Mitchell (5)
Nays: (0) PTayor approved the resolution and it is nu.ra"bered 759.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 122 of Resolution
Book 'ilumber 3.
City Engineer filed plans and specifications andestimate of cost
for Lateral Sanitary Sewers No. 179 and 180, and on Main Sewer "R"
as authorized by Ordinance No. 4922. On motion of Commissioner Bran-
son the plans and specifications were approved by the Board of Col-anis-
sioners and the City Clerk was directed to advertise for bids to be
received on or before January 16, 1939 at 4:30 P. M.
City Engineer filed plans and specifiations and estimate of cost
for repair and reconstruction of Ash Street Sewer as authorized by
Ordinance number 4921. On motion of Commission r Jackson the plans and
specifications were approved and City Clerk directed to advertise for
bids to be received on or before January 16, 1939 ,.t 4:30 P. I%
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and fixing the salaries and wages of officers
and members of the Fire Departmert of the City of Salina, Kansas, and
repealing certain ordinances or parts of ordinances of said City."
Same was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Branson the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
