11-28-1938 Minutes�1 M C0131ISSIONEIRS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, 1 SALINA, KANSAS. —I NOVEMBER 28, 1938. • Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 28, 1938. Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Jackson, the roll was called and Commissioners Jackson, Branson, i"erm and Mitchell and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Morgenstern absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 21, 1938, were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the cost of curbing and guttering Clark Street from the south line of Wal- nut Street to the north line of Spruce Street; Columbia Avenue from the south line of Iron Avenue to the north line of Gypsum venue; Front Street from the north line of Iron avenue to the south line of Ash treet; Seventh Street from the north 1 ine of Pacific Street to the south line of Harsh venue; and for the paving of the alley lying between Santa Fe Avenue and Fifth Street from the north line of Mul- berry Street to the south line of Walnut Street; and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Ferm the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Aes: Jackson, Branson, Ferm and Mitchell (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morgenstern absent. Acting i`-jayor ap- proved the ordinance and it is numbered 4917. i A petition was presented asking for the extension of the White `inlay on Seventh Street south to Walnut Street. Same was referred to the City Manager. A petition was presented asking for the installation of a street light at the intersection of Custer and Venango Streets. Same was re- ferred to the City TVanager. A report was received from Chief of Police, D. K. Fitch, in reference to taxicab drivers license of A. N. Weaver. On motion of Commissioner Branson, taxicab drivers license jio. 54, issued to A. N. Weaver was revoked. Motion adopted. Applications for taxicab drivers license for the balance of 1938 received as follows: Bernard 33aier James D. Jennings Oscal L. Noel. On motion of Commissioner Ferm applications were approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. On motion of Commissioner Branson the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerkj J
