COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
S;_LINA, KANSAS.
OCT0 3ER 24, 1936.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 24, 1936.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morentersn, the roll was c alled
and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, ''erm, Jackson and kitchell and
City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 17, 1936, were read
and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance providing
for and authorizing the appropriation and transfer of a certain amount
from the Waterworks Fund to the General Bonds and interest Fund in the
City Treasury, for the purchase of bonds for the Sinking Fund or In-
vestment Account of the Waterworks Department."
On motion of Commissioner '"'itchell the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: iviorgenstern, branson, rerm, Jackson
and 1"1itchell (5) Nays: (0) Payor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered 4912.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance appropriating
and transferring certain money from the Waterworks Department Fund to
W. P. A. Project Number 7037-5 Ac,count."
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final a doption the roll was called and the
following vote was had;. Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, r'erm, Jackson and
""itchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is num-
bered 4913.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to
issuance of Temporary Note in the amount of $9,000.00. (W. P. A.
Project No. 7037-5).
On motion of Commissioner Fern the resolution was adopted as
read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following
vote was had• Ayes: 11'orgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Mitchell
(5) Nays: �0), Payor approved the resolution and it is numbered 755.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 117 Resolution
Book Number 3.
Application for taxicab drivers license for the balance of
1936 received from:
Gail P. Stuart.
On motion of Commissioner Jackson application was approved by the
Board of Commissioners. 'otion adopted.
A petition was presented asking for the construction of a lateral
sanitary sewer and water main on Twelfth 6treet between Prescott avenue
and Crawford Street. Same was referred to the City Engineer and to the
Waterworks Advisory Board.
City Engineer submitted plans and specifications and estimate of
cost for the curbing, guttering and grading improvements provided for
in Ordinance Number 4911 as follows:
Des '"oines Avenue from the north line of Ash Street to the
south line of Elm 6treet;

Clark 6treet from the north line of Walnut Street to the south
line of Marietta -'venue;
Republic Avenue from the east line of Eleventh Street to the west
line herman 'treet;
of
-Eighth Street from the north line of Pacific Avenue to the north
line of Harsh Street;
Delaware -'venue from the south line of Iron Avenue to the center
line of Johnstown venue;
Johnstown Avenue from the east line of Columbia Avenue to the
east line of l�ansas Evenue;

Oakdale Rvenue from the south line of Johnstown Avenue to the
south line of Ash Street;

Kansas Avenue from the south line of Iron Avenue to the north
line of Gypsum Avenue;
Tenth Street from the north line of Prost 'street to the north
line of Franklin 41 -venue; and
Merrill Street from the south line of Crawford 6treet to the north]
line of Wilson 6treet.
On motion of Commissioner Jackson same were approved by the Board
of Commissioners and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for
bids for the construction of such improvements, to be received up to
and including Monday, October 31, 1938 at 4:30 P. M.
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
