Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 3,
1938. Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Jackson, the roll
was called and Commissioners Jackson, Branson and %iitchell and City
Attorney Norris responded. Commissioners j'iorgenstern and Ferm absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 26, 1938;
Called Meeting of September 26, 1938 and Special Meeting of September
26, 1938 were read and approved as read.
A petition was presented asking for the rezoning of Lots 9,
11 and 13, Block 5, Pacific Addition in the City of Salina, t'ansas,
from residential to Commercial Zone. Approved by the City Planning
Commission.
The following recommendation was received from the City
Planning Commission:

Gentlemen:
The City Planning and Zoning Commission
met at 5:30 P. M. September 30, in the Chamber
of Commerce Rooms to consider the petition for
the rezoning of Lots 9, 11 and 13, Block 5, Pacific
Addition in the City of Salina from residential "B"
to Commercial "C" Zone.
The commission, after careful considera-
tion, favorably considered the rezoning of the
above lots, as mentioned, accordingly, offer recom-
mendation mendation to the city commission for
favorable consideration.

Commissioner Branson moved that recommendations of Planning
Board be approved and that the City Clerk be instructed to publish
notice in the official City paper, providing for proposed change in
Zoning Ordinance. p"'otion adopted.
Commissioner Mitchell moved that the plan of building to be
erected for Peatling l',lotor Company on Lots 9, 11 and.13, Block 5,
Pacific Addition be approved, and that the Building Inspector be
authorized to issue building permit for the erection of such building.
Iviotion adopted.
E. V. Martin submitted a plan of building to be erected on
the southwest corner of Olive Street and Marietta Avenue. Commission-
er iy'pitchll moved that same be approved by the Board of Commissioners.
',lotion adopted.
Commissioner Branson moved that Salina Recreation be permit-
ted to hold a Bowling Tournament, s ame to cover a period of three
Sundays. Motion adopted.
Commissioner Branson moved that the Deluxe Cab Company be
leven permission to move their telephone to 1300 South Santa Fe Avenue.
otion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Jackson, Branson and Mitchell (3)
Nays: (0) Commissioners Tdorgenstern and Ferm absent. Acting Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4908.

an appropriation from the Relief 'aighway Fund fo the payment of cer-
tain claims."

On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Jackson, Mitchell and Branson (3)
Nays: (0) Commissioners Morgenstern and Ferm absent. Acting blayor
i approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4909.
! A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution author-
izing an agreement with the Union Pacific Railroad �Iompany relating to
a construction of a water main across the Union Pacific Railroad
Right-of-way at Chicago Street."
On motion of Commissioner Branson the resolution was adopted
as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the follow-
ing vote was had; Ayes: Jackson, Branson and Mitchell (3) Nags: (0)
Commissioners Morgenstern and Ferm absent. Acting Wayor approved
the resolution and it is numbered 752.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 114 Resolution
Book Number 3.
A petition was presented asking for the installation of a street
light at the intersection of Franklin and Eleventh Streets. Same was
referred to the City Manager.
Application for taxicab drivers license for the balance of
1938 received from:
Raymond M. Massie.
On motion of Commissioner Branson same was approved by the
Board of Commissioners. `"b tion adopted.
