Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners September 19,
1938. Ieeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Jackson, the roll
was called and Commissioners Jackson, Branson, Ferri and iiitchell and
City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner 1l11orgenstern absent.

The minutes of the Regular Prleeting of September 12, 1938 were
read and approved as read. I
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and
adoy-)ted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the f olloiiing vote was had; Ayes: Branson, Ferri, Jackson and kit-
chell (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner I'+•orgenstern absent. Acting 1.ayor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4906.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of cer-
tain clairrns."
On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Iyiit- j
chell (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner 'rrlorgenstern absent. Acting Ifiayor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4907.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution reject-
ing an offer of the United States of America to aid by way of n -rant
in financing a project therein described."
On motion of Commissioner Ferin the resolution was adopted as
read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following
vote was had; Ayes: Branson, Perm, Jackson and Mitchell (4) Nays:
(0) Commissipner Morgenstern absent. Acting Iiayor approved the reso-
lution and it is numbered 747.

Commissioner 3ranson moved that application be approved by the
.Board of 'Conrissioners, rand that the City Clerk be instructed to issue

Notice was receiveCA'. of the cancellation of taxicab insurance
for taxicab owned by T. E. French. City Clerk was instructed to
notify i+lr. r'rench of cancellation.
The appraisers report for the curbing and guttering of:

was designated as a
Special 'Meeting, at which time the reports will be taken up and acted
on by the Board of Comiissioners, and that the City Clerk publish notice
in the official City paper as provided by law. Lotion adopted.
A petition was presented asking for the construction of a water
rain on Fourth Street between Forrest and Pacific Streets. Same was
referred to the Waterworks Advisory Board and Superintendent of ',"later -
works .

A petition was presented asking for the paving of Eleventh
Street from the north line of 'Prost Street to the south line of Frank-
lin Street, Same was ordered filed.
A petition was presented asking for the

Street from the south line of Sunset Drive to the south line of Jewell
Avenue. Sane was ordered filed.

A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A
resolution relating; to the paving of Eleventh Street from the north
line of 'Prost Street to the south line of Franklin Street."
On motion of Corziissioner Branson the resolution was adopted
as read and on its final adoption the roll wast alled and the following
vote was had; eyes: Branson, r'erra, Jackson and ly:itchell (4) Hays:
(U) Coarnissioner 1i-orgenstern absent. Acting Payor approved the reso-
lution and it is numbered 743.

A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A
resolution relating to the paving and grading of Oakdale Drive, (running
east and wrest) from the west line of Oakdale Avenue, thence west one
block along and adjacent to the south side of Cunningham's Replat of
Block 15, Oakdale Addition to the east line of Oakdale Drive (running
north and. south)."

R. V. Broman requested permission to place a temporary flat
wall-.3oard sign four feet by eight feet on garage at Eighth Street and
