COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
JULY 180 1938
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 18, 1938.
Meeting was called to order by Acting mayor Jackson,,the roll was
called and Commissioners Branson, Ferm, Jackson and 'Mitchell and
City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Morgenstern absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 11, 1938 were read
and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance appropriat-
ing and transferring certain money from the Waterworks Department Fund
to W. P. A. Project Number 7037 Account."
On motion of Commissioner Ferm the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the followin vote was had; Ayes: Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Mitchell I
(4). Nays: T0) Commissioner Morgenstern absent. Acting Mayor ap-
proved the ordinance and it is numbered 4884.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating
to issuance of `Temporary Note in the amount of 06,000.00.1. P. A. Project
No. 7037."
On motion of Commissioner blitchell the resolution was adopted
as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following
vote was had; Ayes: Branson, Ferm, Jackson and 111itchell (4) Nays:
(0) Commissioner Morgenstern absent. Acting Mayor approved the reso-
lution and it is numbered 732.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 92 of Resolu-
tion Book Number 3.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Mitchell
(4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morgenstern absent. Acting Mayor ap-
proved the ordinance and it is numbered 4885.
The following claims to be paid from Relief uighway Fund were
presented for payment:

Commissioner Branson moved that claims be approved by the Board
of Commissioners, j`otion adopted.

appropriation from the nelief Highway Fund for the payment of certain
claims." j
On motion of Commissioner Ferm the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the followin vote was had; Ayes: Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Mitchell
(4) Nays: 0) Commissioner korgenstern absent. Acting I"'ayor ap-
proved the ordinance and it is numbered 4886.
Applications for taxicab drivers license for the balance of 1938
received as follows:

On motion of Commissioner Branson applications were approved by
the Board of Commissiom rs. mlotion adopted.

A remonstrance was presented against the curbing and guttering
of Merrill Street from 'Nilson Street to Republic Avenue. Same was
ordered filed.
A protest was received against the location of skating rink
now being operated in Stella Park. Same was ordered filed.
Commissioner Mitchell moved that action on petition received
from Mrs. Elsie McMickle asking permission to operate a taxi company
lin the City of Salina, be deferred until Monday, July 25, 1938.

Commissioner Branson moved that applications be approved by
the Board of Commissioners. I"lotion adopted.
City Manager recommended the revocationof Taxi License Number
15 and Taxicab Drivers License No. 15 issued to D. E. Rounkles. Com-
missioner Mitchell moved that same be approved by the Board of Commis-
sioners. 1rotion adopted.
Commissioner Ferm moved that the following taxicab licenses
be cancelled on account of insurance having expired:
Cab No. 10, W. M. Mooney
Cab No. 16, Robt. S. Peterson
Cab No. 31, D. C. Masse
Cab No. 33, Rowson & McKickle
Cab No. 40, B. H. Fisher
Cab No. 46, Lee Smith
A communication was received from the Chamber of Commerce
in reference to change in present parking regulations. Commissioner
Ferm moved that same be placed on file and action on same to be
deferred until Monday, July 25, 1938. Motion adopted.
On motion of Commissioner I`iiitchell the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
