Yleeting was called to order by Mayor Lorgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners '"`orgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and !'Iitchell and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 5, 1938 were read and approved as read. I' An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: An An providing for the repair and reconstruction of a certain portion of a certain sewer in Ash Street in the City of Salina, and for the payment of the cost thereof by the City at large and for the issuance of General Improvement Bonds of said City to pay such cost.' On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jacksm and Mithcell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4883. Applications for taxicab drivers license for the balance of 1938 received as follows: Leonard Henry Bernard Lantry L. J. Prediger On motion of Commissioner Jackson applications were approved by the Board of Commissioners. 14lotion adopted. Commissioner 14:itchell moved that Taxicab Drivers License No. M issued to Roy E. Willey be revoked. Motion adopted. Electriciants PF.unicipal Bond was presented from the Electrical Construction Company of Salina, Kansas. On motion of Commissioner Jackson same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopt ed. A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering of Johnstown Avenue from Columbia Avenue to Kansas Avenue. Same was referred to the City Engineer. A resolution was introduced entitled: "A 1{esolution relating to compromise of taxes for the Kansas Wsleyan University." On motion of Commissioner Branson the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 731. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 910 Resoluti(n Book Number 3. A petition was presented from Mrs. Elsie McMickle asking per- mission to establish a taxi company in the City of Salina.
