05-09-1938 Minutes29, COMMISSIONLRS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. CON31ISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. MAY 90 1938. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 9, 1938. Meeting was called to order by Mayor %iorgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Mitchell and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 2, 1938 were read and approved as read. An application was received from F. C. Branson asking permis- sion to erect a billboard on the one story building located at 135 North Santa Fe Avenue. Commissioner Ferm moved that permission be granted. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4864. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading Kirwin Avenue from the west line of Santa re Avenue to the east line of "'1 an _ Avenue." On motion of Commissioner Branson the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the follow- ing vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is num- bered 723. i The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 83, Resolu- tion Book Number 3. I A petition was presented asking for the curbing and gutter- ing Clark 6treet from State Street to Walnut Street. Same was referred to the City Engineer. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading Clark Street from Walnut Street to Marietta Avenue." Same was referre�to"the Board of Commissioners. Applications for taxicab drivel -s license received as follows: I. T. Clinkenbard R. Edgar Collins Clarence Rowson On motion of Commissioner Ferm same were granted by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Gas Fitters Bond was presented from Wissing Borthers, and on motion of Commissioner Ferm same was approved by the Board of Commis- sioners. Notion adopted. adjourned. On notion of Commissioner Jackson the Board of Commissioners
