04-18-1938 Minutes1 1 1 1 287 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COIVI ISSI ONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. APRIL 18, 1938. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 18, 1938. Meeting was called to order by payor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Perm, Jackson and Mitchell and Acting City Attorney Jenkins responded. City Attorney Norris absent. The minutes of the Regular Yeeting of April 11, 1938 were read and approved as read. A temporary permit was granted to S. J. Dolby for the opera- tion of a reconditioning shop at the old street car barn at the end of .'test Walnut Street. Permit was granted for a period of sixty days from April 18, 1938. Garber Oil Company was granted a permit to construct an 18 x 30 building at the corner of Eighth Street and Lincoln Avenue. On motion of Commissioner Perm same was approved by the Board of Com- missioners. Motion adopted. Chas. W. Shaver asked for a permit to construct a building to be occupied by the "flowery Clinic on the southeast corner of Iron Avenue and Tenth Street. On motion of Commissioner Branson permission was granted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Perm the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ays: Morgenstern, Branson, Perm, Jack- son and Mitchell (5) Nays: (07 Yayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4859. The following claims to be paid from Relief Highway Fund were presented for payment: The Texas Company Asphalt $606.30 Putnam Sand & Building Co. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund forthepayment of cer- tain claims." On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Perm, Jackson and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4860. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation from the Olive Street Condemnation Fund for the pay- ment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Mor€enstern, Branson, Perm, Jackson and Mitchell (5) Nags: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4861. 288 I Application for taxicab drivers license received from: Glenn E.
