COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
MARCH 7.. 1938.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners March 7,
1938. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was
called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Ntit-
chell and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular meeting of February 28, 1938
were read and approved as read.
The following claims to be paid from Relief highway Fund
were presented for payment:
Golden Belt Lumber Company Cement 540.00
Chas. E. banker, City Clerk Cash paid out for labor 574.37
WPA Project No. 6002 Asphalt & Surfacing Material 257.04
Street Department Gas, Kerosene & Oil 30.58
401.99
Commissioner Jackson moved that claims be approved by the
Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of
certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Perm,
Jackson and Mitchell (5) Nays: Mayor approved the ordinance and
it is numbered 4841.

An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ay0s: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm,
Jackson and Mitchell (5) "ays: �O) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is numbered 4842.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation from the Olive Street Condemnation Fund for the pay-
ment of certain claims."

On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm,
`Jackson and "itchell (5) Nays: (0), Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is numbered 4843.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation out of the General Bonds and Interest Fund for the
payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm,
Jackson and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and
it is numbered 4844.
Commissioner Ferm moved that the Mayor and City Clerk b e
authorized to sign Bill of Sale of houses located at 205 North Olive
Street owned by Sarah E. Huiett White; and 201 North Olive Street owned
by Tom Conley. Motion adopted.
The following application for Cereal Malt Beverage License
was presented:

On motion of Commissioner Jackson application was appm ved by
the Board of Commissioners, and the City Clerk was instructed to issue
license to said applicant. Motion adopted.

Applications for taxicab, drivers license -for the year 1938

On motion of Commissioner Ferm applications were approved
by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
On motion, the date for receiving bids for the erection of
Pump House to be erected in Kenwood Park; and in the alley south of
Gypsum Avenue between Columbia Avenue and Kansas Avenue, was deferred
until March 14, 1938 at 4:30 P. M. Motion adopted.
City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids to be re-
ceived up to and including Monday, March 14, 1938 at 4:30 P. M. FOR
the construction of the following lateral sanitary sewers:
No. 17 Located in the alley between Seventh Street and
Eighth Street from Pacific Avenue to the alley north of Grand Avenue;
No. 158 located in Merrill Street between Venango Street and
Republic venue;
No. 175 located in the alley between Kansas Avenue and Des
Moines from the manhole approximately 375 feet north of the north
line of Elm Street to Riverside Drive;
No. 176 located in the alley between Columbia Avenue and
Kansas Avenue, south of Gypsum Avenue;
No. 177 located on Pacific Avenue from the alley between
Ninth and ent treet to the alley between Tenth and Eleventh
Streets, and in the alley between Tenth and Eleventh Streets from
Pacific to the alley north of Grand Avenue; and
No. 173 located in Sherman street between Venango Street
and Crawford7venue. i
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the construction, reconstruction, improve-
ment and enlargement of the pumping station for the purpose of pump-
ing sewage 8f`Main Sewer District P" and extensions thereof in order
to conduct the sewage of said Main Sewer District "P" and extensions
thereof, to a point of outlet as a part of the sewage disposal sys-
tem of the City of Salina." Same was referred to the Board of
Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for the construction of certain storm sewers in
the City of Salina to be designated as Storm Sewers No. 10-B and No.
10-C, and providing for the letting of contract for such construction
and for the payment of the cost thereof." Same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the Board of Commission-
ers adjourned.
