01-17-1938 Minutes1 Ll 2"5 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA$ KANSAS. JANUARY 17, 1938. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 17, 1938. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Mit- chell and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Ueeting of January 10, 1938 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claim on On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Mitchell (4) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4826. The following claims to be paid from Relief Highway Fund were presented for payment: Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk Cash paid out for labor $327.95 Putnam Sand & Building Co. Sand 17.00 Total 344.95 Commissioner Ferm moved that claims be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of certain j claims." Motion adopted. Notice of cancellation of liability insurance for taxicab owned by T. Co Tuffley and R. M. Aikens was received. On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the City Clerk was instructed to notify Mr. Tuffley and Mr. Aikens that City license will be cancelled if insurance is not renewed. Motion carried. Mr. Creason appeared before the Board of Commissioners in refer- ence to license for Yellow Taxicabs. Commissioner Jackson moved that the request be tabled for investigation. Motion adopted. Mr. F. S. Dyar appeared before the Board of Commissioners in regard to the use of Kenwood Park for 4-H Club for Fall Festival August 28, 29, 300 31 and September 1, 2, and 3rd, 1938. Request was grant- ed, Applications for taxicab drivers license received as follows: Alvin M. Ahring Vernon L. Jensen Robert F. Taylor Max Lampson Elmer D. Kion -4- Commissioner Ferm moved that applications be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Mayor Morgenstern submitted the name of Vm9 F. Grosser, Sr., as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Salina Municipal Band for a term of three years from January 1, 1938. On motion of Commis- sioner Jackson appointment was confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Mayor Morgenstern submitted the names of Chas. W. Shaver and _ Leon B. Stevenson as members of the Waterworks Advisory Board for a � term of three years from January 1, 1938. On motion of Commissioner Jackson appointments were confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. Mayor Morgenstern submitted the names of F. H. Rehm and Carl S • Byers as members of the Board of Directors of the Gypsum Hill Ceme- tery for a term of three years from January 1, 1938. On motion of Commis- sioner Jackson the appointments were confirmed, by the Board of Commis- sioners.
