01-10-1938 Minutes254 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. I COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALIVA, KANSAS. JANUARY 100 1938. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 10, �i 1938. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll i was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson j and Mitchell and City Attorney Norris responded. i The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 3, 1938 were read and approved as read. A petition was received from taxicab owners in the City of Salina, asking for a reduction in taxicab license. Same was ordered filed. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation from W. P. A. Project -Number 6002 Fund for the pay- ment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4824. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and fixing the salaries and wages of cer- tain officers and employees of the City of Salina." On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and adopted by seotions.and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, l Jackson and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4825. Taylor Vincent Willett Commissioner Branson moved that application received from Ed French, Lawrence Niehouse, Fred Kessler, We J, Miller, Raymond Boyer and A. D. Jolley, Jr. be approved by the Board of Commissioners* Motion adopted. Commissioner Mitchell moved that application received from Vincent Millett and Wilson M. Taylor be rejected by the Board of Com- missioners. Motion adopted, A petition was presented asking for the construction of a sewer between Tenth and Eleventh Streets from the alley north of Grand Avenue to the by-pass and extending about 150 feet north of the by-pass. Same was referred to the City Engineer and City Manager. On motion of Commissioner Jackson the Board of Commissioners adjourned. • Map 3i
