Concrete -pavement
Repair 3 for $129,248.00 with a $6,462.40 (5%) construction contingency fora total project
authorization not to exceed $135,710.40 and authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with
Davis Concrete Construction of Salina upon fulfillment of all prerequisites under the bid documents.
BACKGROUND:
As further described in the attachments, pavement repair includes removal of patches of full depth
pavement and replacement with concrete. This project includes 750 square yards in 7 patches on 4
local streets. It also includes fixing the curb line in front of three homes east of Seitz and directly north
of Brookwood. This is the third of three pavement repair projects being bid by staff in April.

Thursday, April 21, 2022 and are as shown at Lancaster Constc., Salina $128'248.00

Engineer's Estim$139,050.00
The cost of this work is similar to the first of the three pavement jects bid by staff in April.
Davis Concrete Construction is a reputable contractor who has lly performed this type of
work for the City of Salina for many years.
FISCAL NOTE:
The 2022 sub-CIP Street Repair budget includes $595,783.32 oederal Funds Exchangemoney, $566,311.04 of which has not yet been authorized.
RECOMMENDATION:Staff has identifiedthe following options for the City Commission's cn.
1.) Approve a motion awarding the bid for project number 22018C, 2022 Minor Concrete -
Pavement Repair 3 to Davis Concrete Construction of Salina in the amount of $129,248.00 with
a $6,462.40 (5%) construction contingency for a total project authorization not to exceed
$135,710.40 and authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with Davis Concrete
Construction of Salina upon fulfillment of all prerequisites under the bid documents.
2.) Approve a motion awarding the bid for project number 22018C, 2022 Minor Concrete -
Pavement Repair 3 to Davis Concrete Construction of Salina with amendments as the City
Commission deems appropriate and authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with
Davis Concrete Construction of Salina upon fulfillment of all prerequisites under the bid
documents.
3.) Postpone consideration of project number 22018C to a specified date and time and provide
staff direction regarding additional information or amendments the City Commission would like
to request for its further consideration.
4.) Do not award project number 22018C and provide staff with any further direction.
