Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 22nd,
1937. Meeting was(Rlled to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was
called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Perm, Jackson and
Mitchell and City Attorney Norris responded.

The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 15, 1937
were read and approved as rea d.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance makin€,-
an appropriation from the W. P. A. Project Number 6002 Account for the
payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final doption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm,
Jackson and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and
it is numbered 4802.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading; entitled:
"An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the paving of
Beloit Avenue from the west line of Highland Circle to the east line

of Funston Street, as provided for and authorized by Ordina nee Number
4791 of the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its finalsdoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson
and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered 4803.
Sign Application Number 171 asking permission to erect a
billboard on lot loea ted 125 feet north of the north-east corner of
Seventh and Ash Streets received from Rogers Outdoor Advertising,
Commissioner Jackson moved that action on same b e deferred. Motion
adopted.
Application for taxicab drivers license received from:
Ralph Dolton
Arvid Rosander
Vernon L. Jensen
A. N. Weaver
Commissioner Jackson moved hat applications received rrom
Ralph Dolton, Arvid Rosander and Vernon L. Jensen be approved by the
Board of Commissioners; and that application received from A. N. Weaver
be rejected by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
Applications for taxicab license received as follows:
Ed French, Owner DeLuxe Cab Company, Operator Cab #43
Arvid Rosander,Owner Bell Taxi Company, Operator Cab #45
On motion of Commissioner Perm applications were approved by
the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
Petitions asking for White Way on both sides of Mulberry
Street from Santa Fe Avenue to Ninth Street received by the Board of
i Commissioners. Same were referred to the City Manager. .
Farmers Union Oil Company asked permission to build a warehouse
on Lot 10, Block 3, Pacific Addition. Commissioner Perm moved that
permit be granted and that tanks be placed underground. Motion adopted.
Warren Hull appeared before the Board of Commissioners and
submitted plans for building to be built at 1128 East Iron Avenue. Com-
missioner Branson moved tha t same be approved by the Board of Commis-
sioners. Motion adopted.
Harold Cravens appea red before the Board of Commissioners
in reference to health insurance for the City firemen. Commissioner
Perm moved that policies be renewed for one year. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance requiring examinations and certificates for plumbers, creating
a Board of Examiners of Plumbers, providing for the duties of sut�h Board,
and providing for penalties for the violation of such ordinance. Same
was referred to the Board of Corimissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance creating a Board of Health in the City of Salina, Kansas,
solely for the purposes set forth in Ordinance No. 4804, being an ordi-
nance requiring Examinations and Certificates for Plumbers. iz Same
was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the Board of Commissioners
