COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SAL INA, KANSAS
NOVEMBER 15, 1937.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 15,
1937. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was
called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Jackson and Mitchell

and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Ferm absent.

The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November S. 1937s
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote vaj had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Jackson and �
Mitchell (4) Nays: OT Commissioner Ferm absent. Mayor approved
the ordinance and it Ss -numbered 4798.
The following claims to be paid from Relief Highway Fund j
were presented for payment:
Chas. E, Banker, City Clerk Cash paid out for labor $375.02
Putnam Sand & Building Co. Sand 32.83
The Texas Company Asphalt 21.50
Total - - - - - - - - - 429.35
On motion of Commissioner Branson the above claims were ap-
proved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of cer-
tain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Jackson
and Mitchell (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Ferm absent. Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered 4799.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "Ari ordinance appro-
priating and transferring a certain sum of money from Public Works
Administration State File No. 1050-R Account to the Paving Fund in the
City Trea sury.1t
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Jackson
and Mitchell (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Ferm absent. Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered 4800.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance pro-
viding for and authorizing the appropriation and transfer of a certain
amount from the Paving Fund and the General Improvement Fund in the
City Treasury, to the Waterworks Fund to take up and pay a certain
Temporary Note issued in payment of certain sidewalk construction,
and which was purchased by and held in the Sinking Fund, or Investment
Account of the Waterworks Department."
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its finaladoption the roll was called and
the following vote wasdiad; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Jackson and
Mitchell (4) Nays: (0 Commissioner Ferm absent. Mayor approved
the ordinance and it isnumbered 4801.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the paving of Beloit._
Avenue from the gest line of Highland Circle to the east line of Fun-
ston Street, as provided for and authorized by Ordinance Number 4791
of the City of Salina, Kansas." Same was referred to the Board of
Commissioners.
Applications for taxicab drivers license received from:
Ed French and Francis LaClair
Commissioner Jackson moved that application received from
Ed French be approved by the Board of Commissioners; and that appli-
ca tion received from Francis LaClair be rejected by the Board of
Commissioners. Motion adopted.

CoYmnissioner Jackson moved that taxicab license issued to
Roy K. Hadden be cancelled, unless a neer insurance policy is filed.
Motion adopted.
A petition was presented asking for the construction of a
sanitary sewer on Merrill Street from Venango Street to Franklin
Street. Same was ordered filed.
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
