11-03-1937 Minutes1 1 1 209 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, ji SALINA, KANSAS. NOVEMBER 3, 1937. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 3, 1937. Meeting was milldd to order by Acting Mayor Jackson, the roll was' called and Commissioners Jackson, Branson, Ferm and Mitchell and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Morgenstern absent. City Engineer filed survey and description of lands to be appropriated for the purposes set forth in Resolution Number 708 of the City of Salina, Kansas. Same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled; "A resolution relating to and providing for the appropriation and con- demnation of certain private property in the City of Salina, Kansas, for the purpose of widening certain portions of Olive Street and the Highway extending northerly therefrom, in said city, and such street and highway as extended, to permit the construction thereon of a viaduct or overpass over and across certain railroad tracks which cross certain portions of said street and highway, and the same as extended, and the necessary approaches thereto and the necessary fills, abutments and other appurtenances required and necessary in connection therewith, and designating a benefit district, and providing for the appointment of Commissioners to make an appraisement of -the value of lands taken and to assess damages therefor and to assess against the city at large the amount of the benefit, if any, to the public generally, by reason thereof, and to assess against the property in said benefit district the cost of such condemnation except that portion thereof assessed against the city at large." Same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the Board of Commissioners adjourned4, r r r City Clerk
