Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 1,
1937, Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Jackson, the roll
was called and Commissioners Jackson, Branson, Ferro and Mitchell and
City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Morgenstern absent,

The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 25, 1937
were read and approved as read.
C. F. Potterf appeared before the Board of Commissioners
and asked permisdion to erect a residence in the 500 Block on South
Ninth Street, having a set -back of 26 feet. Commissioner Mitchell
moved that permit be granted providing he file an agreement from
Pete Ahlstedt consenting to the same, Motion adopted,
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote as had; Ayes: Jackson, Branson, Ferro and
Mitchell (4) Nays: (01 Commissioner Morgenstern absent, Acting
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4794.
The following claim to be paid from Relief Highway Fund
was presented for payment:
Chas, E, Banker, City Clerk, Cash paid out for labor $380.05
On motion of Commissioner Ferm claim was approved by the
Board of Commissioners* Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of a
certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Kitchell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jackson, Branson, Ferm and
Mitchell (4) Nags: (0) Commissioner Morgenstern absent. Acting
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4795.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled%
"An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the paving of
Sunset Drive from the west line of Pershing Street to a line parallel
with and 125 feet west of the west line of Funston Street, as provided
for and authorized by ordinance Number 4785 of the City of Salina,
Kansas.
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jackson, Branson, Ferro and
Kitchell (4) Ways: (0) Commissioner Morg ens tern absent. Acting
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4796•
A petition was presented asking for the construction of
curbing and guttering on Clark Street from the south line of Walnut
Street to the north line of Spruce Street. Same was ordered filed.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A
resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Clark
Street from the south line of Walnut Street to the north line =o
prrUce Street. Referred to the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A
resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading Columbia
Avenue from the south line of Iron Avenue to the north line of
ypsum Avenue." Referred to the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled:
"A resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading Seventh
Street from the north line of Pacific Street to the south 13ne of
ar8' sh Street." Referred to the Board of Commissioners,
The following application for Cereal Malt Beverage
License was presented, and on motion of Commissioner Branson was
approved by the Board of Commissioners and the City Clerk was di-
rected to issue license to the applicant as follows=

Commissioner Mitchell moved that Taxicab Dtivers License
Number 92 issued to Arnold Francis, October 27, 1937 be revoked.
iMotion adopted.
City Engineer submitted plans and specifications and
estimate of cost for the paving of Beloit Avenue from the west line
of Highland Circle to the east line of Funston Street, as provided
for in Ordinance Number 4791 of the City of Salina, Kansas.
On motion of Commissioner Form same were adopted and
approved by the Board of Commissioners and the City Clerk was In-
strutted to advertise for bids for such work to be received up to
and including Monday, November 8,,1937 at 4:30 P. M. Motion
adopted.
Commissioner Form moved that the time for filing survey
and description by the City Engineer of lands to be appropriated
for the purposes set forth in Resolution Number 708, as required
by said Resolution be extended to November 3, 1937. Motion carried.
Commissioner Branson moved that the time for filing plans
and specifications and estimate of cost for the construction of
Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 156 as required by Ordinance No. 4792
be extended to November S. 1937. Motion carried.
On motion of Commissioner Form the Board of Commissioners
adjourned to meet November 3, 1937 at 10 o'clock A. M.
