COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
SEPTEMBER 13, 1937•
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners September 13,
1937. Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Jackson, the roll
was called and Commissioners Jackson, Branson, Fbrm and Mitchell and
City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Morgenstern absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 8, 1937
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; A yes: Jackson, Branson, Ferm and Mit-
chell (4) Nags: (0) Commissioner Morgenstern absent. Acting Mayor
approved the ordihahae- and it is numbered 4776.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering and grading
of Prescott Avenue from the west line of Twelfth Street west to a
pointe feet west of the west line of Phillips Street, north of
Prescott Avenue and the west line of Phillips Street, south of Pres-
cott Avenue; Park Street from the west line of Railroad Street to the
j west line of Chicago Street; Clark Street from the south line of
I State Street to the north line o Marietta Avenue; Ellsworth Street
from the west line of Highland Circle to the east line of Pershing
f Street, except along the south side of and adjacent to Lot 4, Block 6,
in Highland Court Addition where curb and gutterhas been constructed;
Pershing Street -(east side) from the north line of Jewell Avenue, north
to the north line of Lot 9p Block 6, of Ninth Street to the east line
of Eleventh Street; Tenth Street from the south line of Jewell Avenue
to the north line of IYirwin Avenue; ElevenQ Street from the south
line of Jewell Avenue to the north line ofrw Avenue; Columbia
Avenue from the north line of Elm Street to the south line of River -
d -I efrive; Delaware Street from the south line of Iron Avenue to
the north line of Stapler Avenue; Sherman Street from the south line
of Crawford Avenue to the north line of Republic Avenue; Grand Avenue
from the west line of Ninth Street to the east line of Tenth Street;
Jewell Avenue from the west line of Tenth Street to the east line of
Pershing on the south side of Jewell Avenue, and from the west line of
Lot 4, Block 8, Highland court Addition to the east line of Pershing
Street on the north side of Jewell Avenue; and for the paving of the
unpaved portion of Ninth Street (in the center of the street) from
the north line of Lincoln Street to the south line of Pacific Avenue;
and providing for the cost of such improvements, and how the same shall
be assessed and the manner of payment thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ages: Jackson, Branson, Ferm and Mit-
chell (4) Nags: (0) Commissioner Morgenstern absent. Acting Magor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4777.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled:
"A resolution relating to the curbing and guttering and grading of
the north side of Beloit Avenue from the east line of Lot 2, Block
13, Highland Court A dation to the east line of Funston Street."
On motion of Commissioner Branson the resolution was adopted
as read and on its final adoptift the roll was called and the following
vote was had; Ayes: Jackson, Branson, Ferm, and Mitchell (4) Nays
(0) Commissioner Morgenstern absent. Acting Magor approved the
resolution and it is numbered 705.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 56, Resolu-
tion Book Number 3.
Application for taxicab drivers license received from:
Sereno Louis Bartelle.
On motion, same was held for further consideration.
Application for taxicab license received as follows:

On motion action on application was deferred until insurance
policy has been filed.

Commissioner Mitchell moved that application received
from E. E. McCabe, September 8, 1937s, asking for Cereal Malt
Beverage License be rejected by the Board of Commissioners. Motion
adopted.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A
resolution relating to the construction of certain sidewalks in the
City of Salina, Kansas." ISame was referred to the Board of Com-
missioners.
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the Board of Commission-
ers adjourned.
