1937. �tleeting was called to order by Mayor I#Iorgenstern, the roll was
called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Mit-
chell and City Attorney Norris responded.

The minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 31, 1937 were
I read and approved as read.
Continental Oil Company submitted plans and specifications
for Filling Station to be constructed on the corner of Ninth Street and
Ash Street. Commissioner Jackson moved that permit be granted by the
Board of Commissioners. ,Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "Ar_ ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: : I

and Mitheell (5) Nays: (0� Mayor approved the resolution and it is
numbered 4774,
The following claim to be paid from Relief Highway Fund wzs
presented for payment: C

Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk Cash paid out for labor 0 $548.93
Commissioner Jackson moved that claim be approved by the Board
of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an j
appropriation from the Relief Highway Fand for the payment of a certain {
claim."

On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote inras had; $yes : Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson
and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0 Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered 4775.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A
resolution relating to the paving of Beloit Avenue from the west line
of HiElaand Circle to the east line of Funston Street in the City of
Salina, Kansas."
On i:iotion of Conmissioner Jackson the resolution was adopted as
read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following
vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Mitchell
(5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered
704.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 55, Resolution
Book Number 3.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A
resolution relating to the curbing and guttering and grading of the
north side of Beloit Avenue from the east line of Lot 2, Block 13,
Highland Court Addition to the east line of Funston Street."
On motion of Commissioner Ferm same was referred to the Board
of Commissioners.
The following application for Cereal Malt Beverage License
was presented and on motion of Commissioner Branson referred to the
City Manager for investigation:

I was presented and on motion of Commissioner Jackson was approved by
the Board of Commissioners and the City Clerk was directed to issue
license to the applicant as follows:

City Manager recommended the revocation of taxicab drivers I'
license No. 67 issued to John Buchenau April 14, 1937. Commissioner
Branson moved that license be revoked. L'lotion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering and grading of
Prescott Avenue from the west line of Twelfth Street west to a point
124 feet west of the west line of Phillips Street, north of Prescott
Avenue, and the west line of Phillips Street, south of Prescott Avenue;
Park Street from the west line of Railroad Street to the west line
of Chicago Street; Clark Street from the south line of State Street
to the north line of Marietta Avenue; Ellsworth Avenue from the nest
line of Highland Circle to the east line of Pershing Street, except
along the south side of and adjacent to Lot 4, Block 6 in Highland
Court Addition where curb and gutter has been constructed; Persh inE;
Street (east side) from the north line of Jewell Avenue, north to
e north line of Lot 9, Block 6, in Highland Court.Addition;
Franklin Street from the west line of Ninth Street to the east line of

Chas. Nise appeared before the Board of Commissioners and
aslspd for a permit to construct a store building in the 1100 block
on North Ninth Street. Commissioner Branson moved that permit be
; ranted with a set -back in line of the Filling Station, and buildin r
to be constructed with hip roof. 'Notion adopted.
On motion of Commissioner Jacl�cson the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
