COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINUS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS IONERS ROOD,
SAL INA, KANSAS.
AUGUST 16, 1937.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners August 16,
1937. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll
was called and Commissioners tdorgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and
Mitchell and Acting City Attorney Jenkins responded. City Attorney
Norris absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 9, 1937 were
read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of certain claim s."
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Perm, Jackson
and faitehell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered 4769.
The following claims to be paid from Relief Highway Fund were
presented for payment:
Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk Cash paid out for labor $277.75
Putnam Sand & Building Co. Sand 37.26
Commissioner Perm moved that claims be approved by the Board
of Commissioners. Notion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of certain
claims."
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Jackson, Branson,
Ferm and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it
is numbered 4770.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance amending Ordinance Number 3188 by adding certain territory
to the "C" Commercial District as defined by Section 5 of said ordi-
nance and defining and restricting the uses of the territory added to
said district."
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Bran son, Jackson,
Perm and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it
is numbered 4771.
A n ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance making a levy of taxes for general revenue and other
purposes by the City of Salina, Kansas for the year 1938."
On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern.. Branson, Ferm, Jdckson
and Iditchell (5) Nays: (0) llayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered 4772.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance levying special assessments against certain property to pay
the cost of cutting weeds on certain lots and parts of lots, and the
parkways abutting thereon in the City of Salina.'
On motion of Commissioner Perm the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Perm, Jackson
and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered 4773.
The following application for Cereal Malt Beverage License
was presented, and on motion of Commissioner Perm was approved by the
Board of Commissioners, and the City Clerk was directed to issue license
to the applicant as follows:

Commissioner Branson moved that application be approved b the
Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted, P y

adjourned.
