JULY 190 1937.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 19,
1937. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern- the roll
was called and Coimnissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and
Mitchell and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 12, 1937 were
read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On notion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm,
Jackson and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is numbered 4764.
The following claims to be paid from Relief Highway Fund
were presented for payment:
Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk Cash paid out for labor $246.47
Putnam Sand & Bldg. Company Sand 88:28
The Texas Company Asphalt 21.'.50
Total - - - - - 356.25
Commissioner Jackson moved that the above claims be approved
by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation from the Relief H-" ;hvray Fund for the payment of certain
claims."
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm,
Jackson and Mitchell (5) Nays: 0) Mayor approved the ordinance
and it is numbered 4765.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina to pay the cost of curbing and guttering Custer Street From
Crawford Avenue to Republic Avenue; Eleventh Street from Brost Street
to Republic Avenue; and Phillips Street from Prescott Avenue to
Charles Street."
On motion of Commissioner Ferm the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; �ygs: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jack-
son and Mitchell (5) Nays: 0 Mayor approved the ordinance and
it is numbered 4766.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled:
"A Resolution relating to the construction of certain sidewalks in
the City of Salina."
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the resolution was
adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the
following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Ferm, Jackson, Branson
and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it
Is numbered 701.
The above resolution is recorded in frill on Pages 50, 51 and
52, Resolution Book 21umber 3.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled:
"A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and Prading of
Jewell Avenue from the west line of Tenth Street to the east line of
Pershing Street on the south side of Jewell; and from the west line of
Lot 4,Block S. Highland CDurt Add'tlon to the east line of Pershing
Street on the north side of Jewell Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Branson the resolution was adopted
as read and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following
vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern. Branson, germ, Jackson and Mitchell
(5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 702.

The above resolution is recorded in full on Wage 53, Reso-
lution Book number 3.
Application for taxicab license
received as follows:

Commissioner Fera moved that application be approved by the
Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.

Commissioner Jackson moved that application be approved by
the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
Applications for Pool Hall License for the last half of 1937
received as follows:

Coriissioner Branson moved that applications be approved
by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
A petition was presented asking for the extension of water
mains on Third Street and on Woodland Avenue. Same was referred to
the Vlaterworks Advisory Board.
City Yanager submitted Tentative Budget for the year 1938.
Same was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the Board of Commission-
ers adjourned.
