Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Jackson, the roll was called and Commissioners Jackson, Branson, Ferm and 11itchell and City Attorney Vorris responded. Commissioner Iriorg,enstern absent. The minutes of the Regular Vleeting of June 28, 1937 were f read and approved as read. An ordinance iaas introduced entitled: "An ordinance making r an appropriation for the payment of certain claims.`: On motion of Connissioner Branson the ordinance was read i and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roil was called i and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jackson, Branson. -Perm and Mitchell (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morgenstern absent. Acting Yayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4759. The following claim to be paid from Relief Highway Fund was presented for payment: Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk, Cash paid out for freight and labor $325.74 Commissioner Perm moved that claim be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Ylotion adopted. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of a certain claim.'? On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the -roll was called t and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jackson, Ferm, Branson and Mithcell (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morgenstern absent. Acting Llayor approved the ordinance and it is nuxifoered 4760. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering; and grading of Columbia Avenue from the north line of Elm Street to the south line of Riverside Drive.'? On motion of Commissioner Branson the resolution was adopted as rea d and on its final adoption'the roll'was called and the follotyinvote was had; Ayes: Jackson, Branson, Perm and 11itchell (4) Nays: �0 ) Cords s ioner Morgenstern absent. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Delaware Avenue from the south line of Iron Avenue to the north line of Stapler Avenue." On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the resolution was adopted as rea d and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jackson, Branson, Ferry and Mit- chell (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Morgenstern absent. A resolution was introduced for second reading; entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, Guttering and grading of Eleventh Street from the south line of Jewell Avenue to the north line of Yirwin Avenue." A resolution was introduced foe second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Sherman Street from the south line of Crayford to the north line of Republic Avenue." On motion of Commissioner Ferm the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the follow- ing vote was had; Ayes: Jackson, Branson, Ferm and Mitchell (4) Nays: (0) Cormissioner Morgenstern absent. Banker: E The City Planning and Zoning; Commis- sion, in a special called meeting held in the office of the Chamber of Cozmneree at five o'clock P. Y. on July 2, with all members present, con- sidered the petition for the rezoning of certain properties. The petition as herewith attached calls for the rezoning fron "B" Residential to "C" Corriercial the following described properties: TO=i'IT: The, th 90 -ft. of Lots 82 and 83 on Ash treet, Original Town of Salina from "B" Residential to 110 Commercial Zone. r The Commission, after careful consid- eration, favorably considered the petition for the rezoning and, accordingly, favorably recommends it to the Honorable City Commission for their consideration. Snelorove, Owner Cab #48 Commissioner Branson moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners subject to approval of insurance by the City Attorney. Motion adopted. The following application for Cereal Malt Beverage License was presented, and on motion of Commissioner Ferm was approved by the Board of Commissioners and the City Clerk was directed to issue license to the applicant as follows: GETTERAL RETAILER CLASS "B" INDIVIDUAL Application Number Name of Applicant Name & Location of Place of Business 68 Philip W. Commissioner Mitchell moved that recom- mendation be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for second reading; entitled: "An ordinance crea ting and defining certain lateral sanitary sewer dis- tricts in the City of Salinadesignated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Dis- tricts No. 154 and 1740 providing for the construction of lateral sani- tary sewers in such districts and for the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property in such districts for the payment of such cost, and for the issuing of bonds therefor." On notion of Cormissioner Mithcell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jackson, Branson, Ferm and Mitchell (4) Nays: Commissioner Morgenstern absent. Acting Mayor ap- proved the ordinance and it is numbered 4761. Public hearing was held for the following; changes,in Zoning Ordinance; by placing the east one-half of Lots 94, 92.0 90, 88, 86 and 84 on Eighth Street and Lots 80 and 81 on Ash Street, being in the original plat of City of Salina in the "C" Commercial Use District and remove the same from the "B" Residential District." There being no objection filed, permission was granted and the City Attorney was instructed to draft an ordinance providing for such change in the Zoning Ordinance. TJsotion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 3188 by a dding certain territory to the "C" Comriercial District as defined by Sections of said ordinance and defining and restricting the uses of the territory added to said district."
