Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 28,,
1937. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll
was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, and Mitchell
and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Jackson absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 21, 1937 were
read and approved as read.
The following application for Cereal Malt Beverage License
was presented, and on motion of Commissioner Ferm was approved by the
Board of Commissioners and the City Clerk was directed to issue license
to the applicant as follows:

A petition was presented asking for the location of a street
light on South Fifth Street between South.Street and Center Street.
Same was referred to the City Manager and to the City Engineer.
Application for taxicab drivers license received from:

Commissioner Branson moved that application be approved by
the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
The following recommendation was received from the Water-
works Advisory Board:
June 25, 1937.

Advisory Board, in view of the anticipated heavy
use of water for the summer season, and as a
precautionary measure against any possible shortage
of water, recommend the installation of an addition-
al well and pump and the construction of the neces-
sary pump house flow line and electric transmission
line.

Commissioner Mitchell moved that recommendation be approved
by the Board of Coimniss ioners . Motion adopted.
The following communication was received from the Firemens
Relief Association of Salina, Kansas, in reference to pension for
Mr. R. H. Hall:

Whereas, R. H.;hall, who has been permanent-
ly employed as a member of the Fire Department of
the City of Salina, Kansas since August 15, 1918,
and who is a member of the Firemen's Relief Associ-
ation of Salina, Kansas, and who present salary is
:62.50 per month, has become and now is physically
disabled in and by reason of the discharge of his
duties as a member of such Fire Department and is
entitled to relief from the funds of the Firemensis
Relief Association of Salina, Kansas, VOW THEKEFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors
of the Firemen's Relief Association of Salina,
Kansas, that R. H. Hall is entitled to relief to be
paid to him out of the funds of the Firements
Relief Association of Salina, Kansas, on account
of physical disability incurred in or by reason
of the discharge of his duties as a member of
the Fire Department of Salina, Kansas, and that
he be paid from such funds the sum of 462.5U per
month and that the Board of Directors of said
Association recommend to the Board of Commissioners
of the City of Salina, Kansas, that said R. H.
Hall be allowed and paid said sum of $62.50
per month as relief from the funds of said Asso-
ciation.

A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled:
"A Resolution relating to the curbing and guttering and grading of i

of Stapler Avenue." Same was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled:
"A Resolution relating to the curbing and guttering and grading of
j Eleventh Street from the south line of Jewell Avenue to the north line
I of Xlxwin Avenue," Same was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled:
"A Resolution relating to the curbing and guttering and grading of
Grand Avenue from the west line of Ninth Street to the east line of
Tenth Street. Same was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled:
"A Resolution relating to the curbing and guttering and grading of
from the south line of Crawford to the north line of
Republic Avenue." Same was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Branson the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
