Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 7, 1937.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called
and Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Mitchell and
City A ttorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 1, 1937 were read
and approved as read.
P. Morton and F. C. Norton his attorney, appeared before the
Board of Commissioners for hearing on the revocation of the Cereal Malt
Beverage License of P. Morton, and requested a continuance of said
hearing until June 14, 1937. On motion of Commissioner Branson the hear-
ing was continued until June 14, 1937 at 4:30 P. k.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: tvtorgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson
and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered 4752,
The following claim to be paid from Relief Highway Fund was
presented for payment:
Chas. E. Banker, City Clerk, Cash paid out for labor and
freight $831.35
Commissioner Branson moved that claim be approved by the
Board of Commissionerso blotion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation from the Relief Highway Fund for the payment of a certain
claim."
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its finaladoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson
and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered 4753.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments
on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the
cost of curbing and guttering Phillips_ Street from Charles Street to
Crawford Avenue; -�'-irwin Avenue from Ninth Street to highland Avenue;
Oakdale Avenue from Elm Street to a point 550 feet north of Elm Street;
Connecticut Avenue from Iron Avenue to Johnstown Avenue; paving the un-
paved portion of Ninth Street from Jewell Avenue to Cloud Street; recurbing
and reguttering and paving a portion of Eighth street from Ash Street to
Iron Avenue and Eighth Street from Iron Avenue to Walnut Street."
On motion of Commissioner Branson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its finaladoption the ordinance was read and

and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered 4754.
An ordinance was introduced on first reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing that certain platted and unplatted tracts of land
which adjoin the present limits of the City of Salina be added to, taken
into and made parts of the City of Salina; extending the limits of said
City to include said added lands; defining the corporate limits of said
City as extended; and repealing all ordinances in conflict with this
ordinance." Referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced on first reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for and requiring the construction of certain concrete
sidewalks in certain streets in City of Salina, Kansas." Referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
Applications for taxicab license received as follows:

Commissioner Branson moved that applications be approved by
the Board of Commissioners, subject to furnishing insurance binder.
Motion adopted*
The following applications for Cereal Malt Beverage License
! were presented, and on motion of Commissioner Jackson were approved by
the Board of Commissioners and the City Clerk was directed to issue
license to the applicants as follows:

Commissioner Branson moved that Taxicab Drivers License
No. 11, issued to Lloyd CookJanuary 26, 1937 and revoked by the Board
of Commissioners February 22, 19370 be reinstated. Motion adopted.
