Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 3, 1937.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called
and Commissioners horgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson and Mitchell
and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 26, 1937, were
read and approved as read.

An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Ferm, Jackson s
Mitchell k0%
and (5) Nays: Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered 4743.
The following claim to be paid from Relief Highway Fund was
presented for payment:

Chas. E. Banker, City Q.erk, Cash paid out for labor x'$276,57
On motion of Commissioner Jackson claim was approved by the
Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation from themRelief Highway Fund for the payment of a
certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern.. Branson, Ferm, Jack-
son and Mitchell (5) Nays: k0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it
is numbered 4744.
City Engineer submitted plans and specifications and estimate
of cost for the cost of curbing and guttering:
Custer Street from the south line of Crawford Avenue to
the north line of Republic Avenue;
Eleventh Street from the north line of Frost Street to the
North line of Republic Avenue;
Phillips Street from the south line of Prescott Avenue to the
north line of Charles Street. R
Commissioner Ferm moved that same be approved by the Board of
Commissioners and that the City Clerk be instructed to advertise for
bids for such work, bids to be received up to and including 1,1onday,
May 10, 1937 at 4:30 P. M. Motion adopted.
Applications for taxicab drivers license received as follows:

Commissioner Branson
moved that applications be approved by the j
Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.

A petition was presented asking for two hour parking on Fifth
Street from V`Valnut Street to Mulberry Street. Same was referred to
the City Manager.
Plans for the erection of a grocery store on the corner of
Iron Avenue and Front Street presented by Lloyd Price. Commissioner
Jackson moved that same be approved by the Board of Corrnissioners.
Motion adopted.
The following applications for Cereal Malt Beverage License
were presented,.and on motion of Commissioner Jackson were approved by
the Board of Commissioners, and the City Clerk directed to issue
licenses to the applicants as follows:

Commissioner Mitchell moved that the City of Salina transfer
to the Salina Board of Education, the City Park located between Second
and Third Streets, north of Walnut Street in the City of Salina, Kansas,
to be used for school purposes. Motion adopted*
On motion of Commissioner Jackson the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
