04-26-1937 Minutes132 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COWvIISSIONERS R001Vi, SALINA, KANSAS. APRIL 26, 1937. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 26, 1937. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and 'ommissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Form, Jackson and Mitchell and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 19, 1937, were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Jackson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: morgenstern, Branson, Form, Jackson and Mitchell (5) Nays: k0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4739. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering of Custer Street from the south line of Crawford Avenue to the north line of Republic Avenue; Eleventh Street from the north line of Frost Street to the north line of Republic Avenue; and Phillips Street from the south line of Prescott Avenue to the north line of Charles Street, and providing for the cost of such improvements and how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment thereof." Onintion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance 'was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Form, Jackson and Mitchell (5) hays: t0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4740. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance regulating the sale of cereal malt beverages, providing for the licensing of persons selling the same, prescribing license fees, establishing zones, prescribing rules and regulations relating to the sale of cereal malt beverages, providing for the revocation of licenses, repealing ordinances No. 4295, 4342 and 4634, and providing penalties for the violation of this ordinance." On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: 1dorgenstern, Branson, Form, Jackson and Mitchell (5) hays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4741. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to license tax on tent shores." On motion of Commissioner Mitchell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its finaledoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Branson, Form, Jackson and Mitchell (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 4742. Application for taxicab drivers license received from: Leo Lambeth Commissioner Jackson moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners, Potion adopted. Application for taxicab license received from: Leo Lambeth, Owner DeLuxe Cab Co. Operator Cab #24 Commissioner Branson moved that application be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. A petition was presented asking for the extension of water mains on Fifth Street from Pacific Avenue to Grand Avenue. Same was referred to the Waterworks Advisory Board. On motion of Commissioner Jackson the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk 0
